It starts out great, but by the end you'll be asking, "Why the fuck did I just spend time watching this crap?".

I've read several people saying that, but I don't agree at all. I don't want to spoil the ending, so I'll just say that for me the season wrapped up just fine and did not disappoint me.

Well, people say that if you want to experience the show the right way, you shouldn't look up what "OA" stands for, because it spoils part of the story. They say you should go into the show knowing as little as possible. I think if you want a teaser for the general plot of the story that doesn't give away too much, here's my attempt.

It focuses on a 20-something year old blonde girl named Prairie who went missing for several years. She suddenly reappears in her hometown without explanation. Everyone is all aflutter trying to figure out where she was and why she has returned. Meanwhile Prairie herself makes some new friends and begins to tell them the story of what happened to her. There are some supernatural and spiritual elements to the show and some big twists in the plot along the way.

It's a Netflix show and just released its first season a few weeks ago. There are 8 episodes, each roughly an hour long. I think it's worth checking out.

Thought the ending ruined it initially. Couldn't shake the feeling i missed the point of it all. Liked Brit's film "Sound of My Voice" much better and it is similar.

I agree 100%. What the fuck did I just spend 8 hours watching? It was great when you thought it was all leading up to something. And at the conclusion you Immediately regret it

In defense of the ending: I do think it sets a stage for a fun season 2 plot. I think people are overly swerved by the part where OA's story seems to be BS. In actuality it looks like the books were planted under her bed by the psychologist guy / FBI, and perhaps it is all real and legit after all.

Are they going to have a season 2? I really thought this was a stand alone season.

i fast forwarded through some of the slow, typical character development in the early episodes and disagree about the ending. loved it. it gave the series important meaning and tied things together.

i look forward to season 2 (but will fast forward past the filler stuff again)

I haven't seen the show but you fast forwarded through character development because it was slow and enjoyed the ending with gaps in understanding characters?
