I was 35 when I first got married. Couldn’t be happier that I waited for the right person. Just been married 2 years now but it’s been just great!
I was 35 as well. Coming up on 5 years on May 4th. Congrats Split!
May 4th?!?! NERD! j/k I'm just jealous that you have a cool date.

Our first date was dbacks game June 8th 1999. My in-laws had season tickets and my father in law worked for Wells Fargo downtown and would just meet the family at the ballpark so I had to give my mother in law and wife a ride lol. During the hat shuffle they do during the later innings my father in law leaves over to me and tells me the trick is to “watch the shadows” unde the helmets so I lean and start staring for it. Needless to say we still say “look for the shadows” when we see the shuffle ob.

The first move I ever went to with then…. American pie. After that I knew they were keeper.

Found the early conversations with my wife. Here was November 1st, 2017, when we planned our first date:

I'm just gonna throw this out there cuz you seem really interested in hanging out. Option 1: yoga tomorrow night
Option 2: community garden activation on Sat. Morning (don't know if you're into that)
Option 3: hiking and lunch maybe Sunday
Choose one. Choose none. Skip to page 107 to choose your own adventure....

I opted for Option 2. We had a community garden event and I had never done much of anything related to gardening. I wheelbarrowed a ton of soil. We grabbed lunch afterwards. The rest was history after many, many dates together. She's a Master Gardener today via the program UofA offers and we have tons of trees, plants and multiple garden beds since we moved into our home the end of 2018.

AIG, I don't know you, but as I was reading this, I was thinking in my head that this had to be his wife that was offering these options and asking him out. She's clever.

My ex and I grew up across the street from each other in Glendale, AZ until we were 5. We even have pictures together from then. Our families then went our separate ways and lost touch. About 25 years later, her sister interviewed for a job with our old babysitter from the neighborhood. They got each other's contact info. My mom was still good friends with our old babysitter over the years. We met with my ex's family at their Christmas Eve party I think in 1992. I think we went to a movie for our first date after that while I was still in town. She lived in Tempe and I was visiting from Oakhurst, CA where I was working at Sierra Online.

I worked a bit on KQ 6 & 7. I worked from start to finish on LSL 1 remake, LSL5, LSL7, and LSL Casino. I know Al Lowe very well.

This thread got kinda real over the past few days. It's very interesting to hear all of you talk about your partners and lives. I got married when I was 19. It was a horrible mistake and I was divorced within a year. She was the wrong girl. I then stayed single for a long time, trying to do it the right way. I finally found my person and got married in 2015 when I was 35 years old. We're coming up on 10 years married and I could not be happier. Nobody's perfect, but she is everything I could hope for in a partner, and she makes my life so much better and richer. I feel really blessed that I found somebody who was right for me and I think taking my time and having an older perspective helped me find that person.

Being married itself hasn't been much of a challenge, since I'm so deeply happy with the awesome person I managed to fool into marrying me. Having kids has been more of a challenge. I don't regret it at all, and I love my kids deeply. But it is a tooooon of work, lots of lost sleep, lots of difficult days and moments. We chose have our kids quickly; ours are age 6, 4, 2, and 2 months. So that's a lot of diapers and crying and little-kid stuff all at once. The oldest isn't even really old enough to help us out with the younger ones. So in a different world I would have spread them out a bit more to make things easier. But I was already 35 when I got married so I didn't have too much time to get going. I don't regret anything and love all 4 of my little monsters with all my heart, and seeing their growth and accomplishments gives me a joy that I can't get any more from anything in my own life, like work or personal achievements. So I'm positive that becoming a dad has been the right thing for me to feel content and happy with my life when it's all said and done.

Well, maybe he's the type that only allows actual friends, like me. I have a ton of young women sending me friend requests all the time. I haven't "befriended" any of them.

I have. I assume they are Russian dudes or from 3rd world countries. John Oliver recently did a piece on those random texts we receive trying to start a conversation. The person on the other end may very well being forced to do it against their will. Trying to extract money from you with a long game to build trust.
