$5 million won’t even pay for the security Carroll is going to need for the rest of her life.
If the names of the jurors ever get out, they are in grave danger, too. Trump has normalized political violence.

Georgia Prosecutor Signals August Timetable for Charges in Trump Inquiry https://dnyuz.com/2023/05/19/georgia-pr ... p-inquiry/
Mr. Trump’s legal team is trying to scuttle the case with a motion, filed in March, seeking to quash much of the collected evidence and throw Ms. Willis off the case before any charges are filed.

Trump loses the rape/defamation case and is ordered to pay 5 million in damages to E Jean Carroll. The very next day on CNN he spouts the exact same things that got him into trouble in the first place. Now they are going to ask for an additional 10 million dollars in damages. Trump just can’t help himself. I bet they award her the 10 million and I bet the next day he does it again.
Trump faces $10 million defamation claim by E. Jean Carroll after CNN town hall remarks https://www.cnbc.com/2023/05/22/e-jean- ... marks.html
“Trump used a national platform to demean and mock Carroll. He egged on a laughing audience as he made light of his violent sexual assault, called Carroll names, implied that Carroll was asking to be assaulted, and dismissed the jury’s verdict vindicating Carroll.”

It looks like Mark Meadows has "flipped" in the Trump investigation and is testifying now in exchange for limited immunity from greater charges.
Pretty amazing. Sounds like they're going to hold the trial in Miami, which gives me a bit of concern (lots of MAGA folks there, lots of sketchy judges) but it's the correct venue based on where (most of) the crimes were committed.

My understanding is that he's getting a Trump-appointed judge.

Trump Faces Judge Aileen Cannon—Who He Appointed And Has Already Sided With Him https://www.forbes.com/sites/brianbusha ... a8094d1afb
Cannon, however, could prove to be a controversial judge in the case, after she approved Trump’s request in September for a special master to independently review more than 11,000 government documents seized by the FBI in its raid of Mar-A-Lago. That move was heavily scrutinized by legal experts who questioned whether Cannon was treating Trump with favorable and unprecedented consideration, while the appointment of an independent investigator was struck down by an appeals court in December.
Controversial Trump Appointee Judge Will Oversee His Classified Documents Case
Aileen Cannon has a history of delivering wins for Team Trump. https://newrepublic.com/post/173459/tru ... ments-case
Although many may have forgotten her name, Cannon received nationwide scrutiny at the start of the investigation into Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents. Following the FBI’s raid on Mar-a-Lago, and upset with how things were going, Trump filed a made-up motion titled a “Motion for Judicial Oversight and Additional Relief.”
Cannon agreed to hear the motion, despite having no jurisdiction to do so, and ultimately assigned a “special master” to review all of the material the FBI found at Mar-a-Lago before the investigation could proceed—a victory for Team Trump.
The Justice Department appealed the decision, and the Eleventh Circuit Court ultimately ruled that neither Cannon nor Trump had had any legal right for their actions. The appeals court threw Cannon’s decision out entirely.

This indictment is pretty staggering. They have him on tape admitting that he did it and that he knows it was wrong. I think he's fucked.
