13 charged in plots against Michigan government https://apnews.com/article/michigan-che ... d3593425ff
DETROIT (AP) — Michigan’s attorney general has charged seven people with plotting to target law enforcement and attack the state Capitol building.
The announcement comes after six others were charged with plotting to kidnap Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer at her vacation home in reaction to what they viewed as her “uncontrolled power,” according to a criminal complaint unsealed Thursday in federal court.
The state attorney general announced additional charges under Michigan’s anti-terrorism law. Seven men, all in custody, are linked to the militia group Wolverine Watchmen.
They are suspected of attempting to identify the homes of law enforcement officers to “target them, made threats of violence intended to instigate a civil war.” They also planned and trained for an operation to attack the Michigan Capitol building and to kidnap government officials, including the governor, Dana Nessel said.
Jury acquits two men in Michigan governor kidnapping case, deadlocks on charge for two others Nathan Layne and Tyler Clifford

(Reuters) - A federal jury on Friday acquitted two men of conspiring to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer in 2020 and was deadlocked on the same charges for two other men.
The men were charged in a plot prosecutors say had been inspired by their fierce opposition to pandemic-related restrictions that her office imposed.
In a federal court in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the 12-member panel found Adam Fox and Daniel Harris not guilty of kidnapping conspiracy charges. The jury was not able to agree on a verdict for Brandon Caserta and Barry Croft Jr.
Harris was also found not guilty of knowingly conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction against persons or property for allegations of plotting to use explosives to blow up a bridge after abducting the governor. The jury was not able to reach a verdict against Fox and Croft for the same charge, resulting in a mistrial. Caserta did not face the weapons charge.
The prosecution, who said the men belonged to self-styled militia groups, accused them of planning to break into Whitmer's vacation home, spirit her away and put her on "trial" for treason.
The kidnapping, the defendants had hoped, would force an end to Whitmer's pandemic mandates, while pushing the country - highly polarized ahead of the 2020 elections - into a second American civil war, the prosecution said.
The case stands one of the most high-profile prosecutions of alleged members of right-wing organizations that have sprung up in the years since former President Donald Trump's election in 2016. It also highlights the extent to which the pandemic and government efforts to control it have become a wedge issue in U.S. politics.
The defense argued that the government used FBI informants and undercover agents to encourage the online discussions, hoping to entrap the defendants in alleged crimes because of their political views, they said.
The acquittals come despite key testimony from Ty Garbin and Kaleb Franks, two others who were charged in the alleged plot before striking plea deals with prosecutors. Garbin is currently serving a six-year sentence, while Franks is awaiting sentencing.
The four on trial are among 13 men who were arrested in October 2020 and charged with state or federal crimes in the alleged kidnapping conspiracy. Seven of them are facing charges in state court.
The FBI said it had begun tracking the group's movements after seeing online discussions that included posts about the violent overthrow of some state governments.

The FBI has had an awful lot mess ups reported lately. Not all in the pedo thread are FBI involved.
I am curious, and everyone should also be curious too, why there haven't been any released names or indictments of Epstein's clients?

I got the memo. The FBI is bad and evil. The CIA is bad and evil. Homeland Security is bad and evil. The US government is bad and evil. Democrats are bad and Evil. BlLM is bad and evil. The media is bad and evil. Putin is misunderstood and being picked on and Trump has never told a lie.

Maher is right to call out waste and fraud in these COVID relief bills. But toward the end he mentions Manchin and Sinema and defends them for pushing back against other big spending bills, implying that they are the sole Dems looking for fiscal responsibility. The problem with Manchin and Sinema isn't just about spending. They are blocking almost every part of Biden's agenda, anything from climate change laws to health care improvements. Money or not, they just don't want to let the Dems govern as they see fit to govern. So now we'll have 2 years where not that much was accomplished by the Biden administration, outside of I guess the huge benefit of it not being 2 years under a re-elected Trump. "At least I'm not the other guy" isn't a very strong sell at voting time, though.
The way it looks right now, the Dems are going to get absolutely slaughtered in the mid terms.
I have this feeling that they may not even have mid term elections, as some emergency order gets declared to cancel them. Just a feeling, as we can't have the Congress get turned over into a super majority against a doofus fool puppet.

You're probably right that the Dems will do poorly in the midterm elections. But your theory that the Dems will somehow cancel the elections to avoid doing badly is straight up paranoia. What evidence is there that they would ever do that? We still held elections despite being in a worldwide pandemic. There's just no way we would cancel them in 2022. It would also require vast coordination between federal, state, and local governments that is almost impossible to coordinate.

You really have been swallowed up by Q.
Did Q say this? You talk an awful lot of Q and know what they say, you must be some weird follower.

And of course the party in power will lose seats in the mid-term. It happens nearly every single time.
I don't mean to say that the House and Senate will merely flip, but the Dems will do historically bad.

Idk what it will be. They are definitely trying to keep the pandemic going. Fauci said the pandemic was over, and the very next day he must have gotten talked to, as he changed his mind and said it was still on. Perhaps it will be a Russian attack scare, idk. But, the coordination would be at every level if something like either of those was announced to cancel them.

I don't see any evidence that anybody wants to "keep the pandemic going." In fact, COVID actively harms the political prospects of the party in power, since it leads to voter dissatisfaction. COVID basically lost Trump the 2020 election. To say nothing of the horror of watching it kill hundreds of Americans per day. Not sure why anybody why anybody would want to prolong or keep it going.
