This Bower testimony today is pretty gripping.

It is one thing for him to target people in authority or elected office. Still bad, but you kind of sign up for that when you run for public office. But for him to go after people not in the game is just disgusting.

I'm having a hard time with someone like Bower who stood by Trump for his entire term and only started to have a problem with Trump when asked to do something illegal. Throwing on the "divinely inspired" constitution stuff felt performative to me when, again, looking at the full picture of what Trump has stood for as a politician.

I'm more likely to believe Bower and people like him are more worried about what might be revealed about them and their actions while working with Trump during his entire term.

WI GOP Sen. Ron Johnson is now implicated in 1/6 scandal. He apparently was ready to bring a slate of fake electors to Pence.

The crazy thing is, these people would STILL vote for Trump again, despite everything he's done. This Bower guy testifies about Trump's attempt to pressure him to steal the election, then he says, "Yeah, I want that for 2024." There is honestly no hope for Republicans. None whatsoever.

He said Trump told him to violate his oath of office to the Constitution and that his religious beliefs and duty to his oath are what prevented him from doing it. Then said, yeah, I think he would be a good president and I will vote for him. Such a coward.

He also said he didn’t watch any of the hearings. If he did he would have learned Trump was front and center behind the whole scheme that Bowers said was so destructive to our democracy. Of course he knows Trump was behind it. I guess if you don’t watch it you can claim ignorance on the facts.

Jeffrey Clark just got his home searched via subpoena. That means they have evidence he was involved in a crime. Pretty big stuff; lot of movement in the past week on all this.

They released the names of GOP Congressmen who asked for pardons.

Do you ask for a pardon if you believe what you are doing is legal? Feels like an admission of guilt.

Aaron Rupar provides a nice summary of yesterday's hearing in this tweet thread.
