He's gonna end up with that prime Dwight Howard build, where it looks like he's a human statue. Too big and strong for 90% of the NBA to guard.
Love, Hurts.

“And then the upside factor. I know we’re in a league right now where we look in the finals and we’ve got guys out there who are, I guess we say positionless. And you probably say, ‘What’s the role for a center? Shouldn’t we look at Luka Doncic maybe, more of a wing or a guard here?’ and I say, ‘Don’t get cute with the draft.’ Eventually, this cycle is going to end and we’re probably going to get back in the day and age where bigs are dominant again.”
And sorry to break it to Bobby, but the league isn't going to slow down, .

According to sports-reference.com, it’s 250.In2ition wrote: ↑Thu Jun 07, 2018 10:08 amI thought he was listed as 260 this past season. He's gaining muscle easily while cutting body fat. Oden failed because his body broke down, not because of a lack of ability. And Durant was considered the clear #2 prospect that year. He just came off a freshman year where he averaged 25,8 points ans was a consensus first team All-American. I don't think it was a surprise to anyone that year that they went 1-2 in the draft.
And I think both Ayton and Doncic will have successful NBA careers.
Ayton is listed at 250 lbs., but he’s just 19 years old. Wouldn’t surprise me if he ultimately has a playing weight around 265-270. I wonder if the combination of that with a 44 inch vertical might be a recipe for knee injuries in the long run.

"He was a 7-foot-1 center who weighed 243 pounds with enviable 10.7 percent body fat, despite never lifting a weight in his life. ... After, uh, ejecting some nutrients from his body on that July day, he added 30 pounds of muscle.Cap wrote: ↑Thu Jun 07, 2018 10:21 amAccording to sports-reference.com, it’s 250.In2ition wrote: ↑Thu Jun 07, 2018 10:08 amI thought he was listed as 260 this past season. It sounds like science fiction, the idea of three or four years of gains condensed to the nine or 10 months permitted by the one-and-done dynamic. ... From mid-July to mid-January, Ayton swelled from 243 pounds to 261 pounds while dropping his body fat to a preposterous 5.4 percent."

I had a crazy thought about the different statements that were made yesterday about several team members hanging out with Ayton (its probably because a lot of my colleagues do work on diversity in groups)--even in some crazy situation where we can pick up the #4 and get both Ayton & Doncic, would the players end up picking sides between the two players? With a European coach, and having team members like Bender on the roster, I wonder if it would end up dividing the locker room.
Re: With the FIRST pick in the 2018 NBA draft, the Phoenix Suns select...
It's possible that it could take place, but if everyone's goal is to win, then it goes by the wayside. I was thinking the same thing, like there could be a divide between a Booker camp and a Doncic camp, as Doncic would take away a lot of Booker's and Josh's usage rate.jonh wrote: ↑Thu Jun 07, 2018 11:07 amI had a crazy thought about the different statements that were made yesterday about several team members hanging out with Ayton (its probably because a lot of my colleagues do work on diversity in groups)--even in some crazy situation where we can pick up the #4 and get both Ayton & Doncic, would the players end up picking sides between the two players? Almost makes me want to see the Suns move up to get Trae Young, who fills a glaring hole as a pg, facilitator, 3 pt marksman, and engine of the team getting EVERYONE fed.

Move up for Trae and just say forget about playing defense. A Trae/Booker backcourt with Ayton as the anchor would give up a lot of points, but we'd be a lot of fun.

Haha, exactly. Double the offense and half the defense...muhahaha

Beast.
Those offensive rebound slams. The way he moves for a 7ft, 250+ lb player.

Why would there be any division? You figure Doncic would resent Ayton for being drafted ahead of him? Why would there be sides to pick?jonh wrote: ↑Thu Jun 07, 2018 11:07 amI had a crazy thought about the different statements that were made yesterday about several team members hanging out with Ayton (its probably because a lot of my colleagues do work on diversity in groups)--even in some crazy situation where we can pick up the #4 and get both Ayton & Doncic, would the players end up picking sides between the two players? It would be more fun than the last 8 years. For the record, I'm not in favor of moving up for Trae.

Are you guaranteeing that they would lose?

Great. I post a concern about Ayton’s knees, and then get a scouting video comparing him to Embiid and Oden.
