It's a solid point. We should have significantly less player/GM issues with Jones going forward.
That is almost exactly how the Earl Watson hire was sold to us.

Yep. I hope James Jones does well, but there is no reason to think he will. Just because everyone likes him does not mean he will be a good GM. Everyone loved Earl. Nash thought Triano was a great hire. Hires need to be based upon a body of work. James Jones has none.
Remember Steve Kerr. He was not a good GM. No experience on the job even though he is a brilliant basketball mind. You cannot shortcut the education needed.

let's hope that with his connections, he can engineer a trade for lonzo ball.

For the record I was saying this made him a good GM. Just that our player/GM relations should be better. When James Jones leaves or gets fired, I don't think we see former players celebrating it like we did with McD. The Morris twins and Mike James all applauded the move. And that's not including his issues with dragic and Bledsoe.
Like Inf said, this was how Watson was sold and he clearly didn't work out. Although he did seem to get along fine with the players.
So would I, but Lonzo’s trade value is higher than JJ’s, and there’s no way the Lakers make that trade straight up.
