Weird thought... but why not make our starting line-up our best 5 guys?

That's Okobo, Booker, Bridges, Warren, and Ayton. Lots of shooting, spacing, scoring. Only 1 player really out of position (Warren). Our other PFs are kind of awful, and aren't giving us anything anyway.
God, the bench would be abysmal though!
The bench would basically consist of Josh Jackson..."trying to do it all"...like he likes to do lol.

The Suns’ original owner, Richard Bloch, has passed away.

You might ask “Who’s Richard Block?” well, he was an owner who hired someone and let them do their job. He didn’t pretend to know how to be the GM. He just stayed in the background and when Colangelo looked to Bloch for more money to pick up some salary (Truck Robinson, Rich Kelley, James Edwards) Bloch just wrote the checks.

Sure would be nice to have someone like that as owner now.

I think they need to make a move to pick up a decent to good starting PG and a PF with a pulse.

I don't know where that deal is at, but they need to go out and find it.
Dec. 15th. Suns trade for Love and Hill (my guess)
Love has this season at 24 million and 4 more seasons after this at 30 million per year. He is 30 now. Somebody is going to pay him 30 million dollars at the age of 34 in 2023.

Hill has this season at 19 million and next at 18 million. He is 32 now.

IINM, we would have to send out 43 million to bring them in. Anderson, Ariza, and Bender might be close enough. But you give up your cap space for this whole run. You would have to be super sure that those guys will turn us around.

Hill only has 1million gauranteed next season. So it's essentially an expiring contract

Benders option declined. So a draft that I hated because we picked 2 dudes who showed no real NBA skills yields us nothing. FANTASTIC.

I will say it yielded us less than most, but that draft still sucks. Both players were risks when we took them, but there was no obvious picks. Murray, Hield, or Sabonis would be nice, but I'm not upset that we took a chance. We swung and missed

I honestly would've trade out for a future pick. It was a really bad draft.

I remember watching games with Bender at Maccabi and he was literally just standing at the three point line most plays, occasially swinging it to the next open guy...just like he did here for three years. I had to assume all these professional scouts were seeing something we weren't able to see, like at practice or private workouts. Turns out, no, he's just that player. I held out hope he'd figure out a role, never expecting him to be dominant, but it just hasn't happened. Incredibly dissapointing draft and one we needed to nail. I get that we took two long shots on projects, but maybe next time pick the projects that have some actual drive in them.

Resurrect the big fat INF "F," it certainly seems correct now.

Taking chances with a top 5 pick is stupid, taking chances with 2 top 10 picks is stupider. Just flat out awful. Hated it then, even more now because we're no closer to finding an answer at the 4 spot. Sigh.

Whoever ended up being the best pick or two out of that draft, that's who! Hindsight and all (in a crapshoot draft class).
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

I wanted Murray, Sabonis, or Hield. Also liked Ellenson who turns out was shit too.

Or ya know, just be honest about it. I was all in on Sabonis and Murray. Hield wouldve been fine too. Anything was better than drafting 2 project PF with no tangible NBA skills. Nobody needed hindsight to see those 2 were doomed from the start.

RE: 2016 Draft

Heild was my guy because I thought he could play PG. He's looking like an adequate pick for the lottery in that draft, but I don't think he would've been a viable PG solution now.

I think almost everyone around here was high on Sabonis. He seemed like a very safe pick, a prospect with a high floor even though he'd likely never become an all-star.

Hield was my favorite guy at #4, but I knew we weren't drafting him.
