He's also averaging 8.5 fouls per 36 minutes. Oof ...
He definitely wasn't passing the eye test.
Maybe if he gets new contact lenses, he’ll play better.
I highly recommend Lasik.
Probably not a good idea during the season.
I had mine 9 years ago and I only limited my activity for a weekend.

Do we know what the buy out was? Surely it was a bit less than full?

A graceful parting of ways for a change:

https://www.nba.com/suns/press-release/ ... -agreement
“We want to thank Tyson for his contributions to the Suns over the past three-plus seasons,” said Vice President of Basketball Operations James Jones. “With respect for Tyson’s accomplished career, today’s move gives him the chance to pursue a new opportunity while allowing our younger players to continue developing. Tyson is a consummate professional and we wish him all the best.”

“I am grateful for my time in Phoenix and want to thank my teammates, my coaches, the front office and the fans for an amazing experience.” said Chandler. “I wish them the best and I am excited for the next stage in my career.”
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Why didn't this happen before the season started? I won't lose sleep over losing Shaq or Reed, but we could have kept one of them as a developmental project. Is there another move coming? Is Juwan Evans getting a contract?
Sarver thought we would make a playoff push.

Not going to miss Chandler but he at least did one thing at an elite level which is much better than most of our players. He has definitely been coasting but even if he gives 100% he isn't a difference maker at his age.

Ariza is pretty much guaranteed to be moved as soon as the rules allow it. I guess we are back to talking about draft picks.

I just hope Igor is up to the task of teaching this young team how to actually put effort in on the defensive end. I'm not really worried about us offensively with Booker/Ayton but man do we need major improvements on the defensive end.

The Holmes family must be ecstatic about the Chandler buyout. Might be an interesting Twitter follow.

George King is interesting. It feels like his role is a small-ball 4.
I've been thinking the same thing. I think he has a chance to become a good role player.

He's probably wondering why he's not coming up. His line was much more efficient than Melton's.

He needs the time in the D League. So does Melton. Leave them there for 10-15 games at least.

Yup. It did depend on Tyson leaving the equivalent of a minimum contract on the table, but not great Bob.

Shaq is a third string pg, Reed is the guard version of Bender, Melton has yet to prove his value and if he'll be in the league in 4 years... We supposedly did a favor to Chandler by waiting to buy him out. Been a long time someone left this organisation in good terms. Maybe they are trying to show they now will treat their players better. May be more valuable in the long term than those bench fillers we could have kept...

I figured that he would have value helping Ayton and be traded for teams desperate to clear cap space.

I think the Chandler mentorship thing is overrated. Just because he’s old and was once good doesn’t mean he can teach.

dallas and phoenix now both have a 2-7 record. ayton's chances of winning ROTY improving. let's see if this team can catch up to atlanta's 3 wins record.

Ariza recently signed a contract and, as a result, he cannot be traded until Dec 15, 2018.
