Not generally. Although, over this recent tear he's been on he was getting to the line for almost 10 FTAs per game which is right where he needs to be if he's going to be in that tier of players that routinely averages over 25 per game.

Since the merger, there have been only 25 guys to do that for a season. I was surprised to see several of them still didn't get to 25 ppg that same year (Dwight x4, Shaq x2, Moses x2, The Admiral, Alonzo and a couple others).

With essentially one version of the starting lineup out (Ayton, Warren, Oubre, Booker and Johnson), it's audition time.
The last three games are an early version of summer league ...
Melton and Okobo should evenly split time at guard to get a better read on talent.
Jimmer will play more, but should only do so if he taking from Crawford's or Daniel's playing time.
King should get playing time to see if he shows signs of being NBA "ready."

Yeah if Booker is shut down this team will be pretty unwatchable. Which is what we’re used to now with 5 games or less left in the season.
I think we should choose 1 of Melton, Okobo, or Bender to bring back. I’m not interested in all or even 2 of 3. Too many projects on 1 roster. None of those guys look like NBA players and have a decent enough sample size to stand out. I think Okobo would be my pick but I’d be OK with Bender. Melton needs some D League time most of all

Plus, he was forcing shots that weren't even close. He doesn't seem to know how to be part of a team.Shabazz wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2019 11:25 pmJimmer does not look like an NBA player. He's just so small out there. This is a weird thing to say, but he's got the tiniest strides I've ever seen. It's like the opposite of Giannis. Where Giannis can take 3 steps from halfcourt to the rim, Jimmer looks like a cartoon character taking a hundred steps between the 3 point line and the free throw line.

Safe to say that the Jimmer experiment has failed. He doesn't know how to be part of a successful NBA team.
These last games of the year are going to be pretty brutal to watch. But ... will Bender crack a 20-point game perhaps?

Based on their performance this year, does anyone have proof that they know how to be a part of a successful NBA team?Marty [Mori Chu] wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2019 9:26 amSafe to say that the Jimmer experiment has failed. He doesn't know how to be part of a successful NBA team.

I thought Jimmer looked fine until his minutes in garbage time. Thats when he started jacking up shots a bit. Either way, I can’t imagine bringing him back. I just don’t know what he offers us.
Re: Game Day: Jazz (47-30) @ Suns (18-60), Wed 4/3/19
It’s funny...jazz fans wonder why booker gets star calls and why Mitchell doesn’t.
I think it’s just hard to see when your own players get calls. I think booker gets quite a few calls. His free throw rate would seem tonback that up.

Booker finished the season at 26.6/6.8/4.1 and shot .467/.326/.866 which gave him a TS% of .584
If he just bumps that 3pt% back up to the 38% range, we’re looking at a .48/.38/.88 guy who puts up 27/7/4. That’s an elite offensive player. We really need to get him some help.

There were a few calls or non-calls last night that were extremely questionable to me. One that was called on Holmes, where on a rebound, Mitchell was boxing out Holmes and Holmes had his hands on Mitchell's back, but didn't look like he pushed him at all, yet Mitchell flew all the way out of bounds. Looked like a complete flop to me, and Holmes got called for a foul. Holmes didn't extend his arms at all and unless he has some major strength in his fingers I have no idea how Mitchell was pushed and flew that far.

Going into last night's game, Booker needed to average 32.25 ppg in the last 4 to be the highest scoring sun ever. Ever. Chambers has that mark for the 89-90 season with 27.17. He was going to get that no problem if it wasn't for that ankle sprain.Split T wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2019 9:50 amBooker finished the season at 26.6/6.8/4.1 and shot .467/.326/.866 which gave him a TS% of .584

The Bender travel was laughable...would love to hear what the ref was thinking there. Bender was literally still dribbling when they called itIn2ition wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2019 9:54 amThere were a few calls or non-calls last night that were extremely questionable to me. Book had a great season. But I am worried about those low shooting percentages, particularly the 3pt%. I'm assuming and hoping it is largely to do with the lack of a decent PG to get him the ball and get him easy open shots. But I hope he keeps practicing his shooting and doesn't overspecialize at a ballhandling role that isn't likely to be his role in the future.
Re: Game Day: Jazz (47-30) @ Suns (18-60), Wed 4/3/19
I think not having a pg has a little to do with the percentages. It could also have something to do with this hand surgery he had too, or his hamstring pulls and then back issues. These will all effect his 3%. I'm sure it will come back to normal or higher next year if he gets a decent pg and has a healthy year.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2019 12:27 pmBook had a great season. For a guy that takes 20 shots a game, he only gets 3.4 catch & shoot attempts a game. I assumed it would go up if he played next to a starting caliber point guard. He did get to play 12 games with Tyler Johnson this year, so I tried to look at his stats for the full year versus with Tyler. Although his catch and shoot attempts went up 10% (3.4 to 3.7), I am not sure we saw a better Book.In2ition wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2019 12:33 pmI think not having a pg has a little to do with the percentages. (Granted it did take a a couple weeks for Tyler to learn the system, get his family moved, and get in a couple practices.)
