Saw his tweet today, hopefully good news coming.

I laughed way harder than I should have.djy2j wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2019 7:21 pmThe longer this goes on the longer the window stays open for Sarver to do something reprehensible to ruin it.
Something such as tying a contract to a donkey to be delivered to Kelly’s doorstep that reads, “Don’t be a jackass. Sign this contract.”
The fact that you cannot completely rule this out is terrifying.

Dollars and income? We aren't demonstrating our love through empty dollars but instead, emotions and deep feelings of admiration. We're hoping Oubre thinks with his heart and not with his mind. We'd love to have him back. - James Jones.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

I’m all about NOT overpaying but they longer this goes on the worse it’s going to get. Phoenix is also not a preferred FA destination and I hope Jones remembers this. It’d be best not to call his bluff because this could end up being another Bledsoe situation really quickly.
If kelly plays on a qualifying offer then bolts Phx won’t even be able to attract 2nd tier free agents.
Oubre deserved money before Rubio or Kaminsky.

We couldn’t pay him before Rubio or we wouldn’t have had space for Rubiodjy2j wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2019 9:47 amI’m all about NOT overpaying but they longer this goes on the worse it’s going to get. Re: Kelly Oubre Jr. Restricted Free Agent Watch
I think the risk on Oubre is if he is overpaid, he will be unmovable if and when Bridges becomes the stater. To keep Booker, they gotta lock him up for 3 years.djy2j wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2019 9:47 amI’m all about NOT overpaying but they longer this goes on the worse it’s going to get. You’ve got to be willing to play Oubre as a backup 4 if you’re gonna pay him.
Re: Kelly Oubre Jr. Restricted Free Agent Watch
Since nothing ever changes no matter who is in the front office, Sarver must still be exerting his influence.

Re: Kelly Oubre Jr. Restricted Free Agent Watch
Knowing our incompetent ownership, we'll get the worst of both worlds. We will overpay Oubre ($20m ish) and also piss him off so that he won't want to play here.
Re: Kelly Oubre Jr. Restricted Free Agent Watch
That's honestly what it will end up being, except with an underpay. If he "settles" for 14-16mil, he could still be left with a sour taste in his mouth about the FO/ownership. I just hope they find a number that works for everyone and we can start the season with some positivity instead of this hanging over the team next season.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2019 1:54 pmKnowing our incompetent ownership, we'll get the worst of both worlds. But again, gonna withhold judgement until we know what numbers are being talked about. Maybe, just maybe, the FO and Sarver are being reasonable offering 16-18 and Oubre wants north of 20. In that case, I won't blame the the organization.
Re: Kelly Oubre Jr. Restricted Free Agent Watch
I just can't believe we let Oubre hang without actually agreeing to terms on the exact amount his contract would be. Did we really tell him to just sit tight and that we'd figure that out later? How could we leave him like that with no certainty about how much we'd offer him?
Re: Kelly Oubre Jr. Restricted Free Agent Watch
No way he would do that without testing market, both sides i guess playing dangerous game but Suns have better position.
