RUSH Drummer Neil Peart Dies

Post by Nodack »

I was a big RUSH fan growing up. Neil Peart was idolized by many rock drummers. He got a lot of flack for not being a Jazz drummer but, I don’t care. RUSH was a trio and sounded like a much bigger band and he was a huge part of it.

RIP Neil

He was a great drummer. He may not have been a jazz drummer but he studied and appreciated Buddy Rich and played on his tribute album.

RIP
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

He was real good at what he did. He wasn’t my favorite drummer of all time but, I enjoyed his playing. Rush was a three piece band that sounded like a much bigger band and wrote interesting music. I even played in a Rush tribute band a few times.
