Game Day: Suns (16-23) @ Hawks (8-32), Tues 1/14/20

Post by Superbone »

Time: 5:30 pm AZ (4:30 pm PT/7:30 pm ET)
Place: State Farm Arena, Atlanta, GA
TV: FSAZ/NBALP

On the road again... Can the Phoenix Suns win 4 in a row with Booker? Well, first they have to win their 3rd in a row against the struggling Hawks. Young is questionable.

Go Suns!!!

I'm going to be really pissed off if they come out with a lazy effort to start this game.

Atlanta and New York are two trap cities for immature teams, and I'd be very surprised to get a win in Boston.

Need the wins to get any kind of mojo and momentum back
I hope ayton keep improving each game
I wonder which Oubre we will see

I never know what to expect each game.
I just hoped they’ve learned
- they can’t start out half asleep
- this team can’t ever afford to relax

I can’t seem to remember the last time we convincingky beat a team. Was it against Brooklyn?

Also I wonder if Alex len only lives up to his draft pick status in the games he plays against us. I hope ayton gives him the business

I saw tweets (can't find them now) indicating that most of the Hawks team is out tonight. If we can't even beat the short-handed Hawks, ...

We'll be short-handed. Rubio is having his first baby.

Atlanta has struggled with four straight losses coming into the game and they are in the basement of the Eastern Conference. The Hawks have their work cut out for them with their porous defense causing all kinds of issues. If Atlanta is minus Young, they really struggle to do much on the offensive end, as we saw in the loss to the Nets. Phoenix is hanging in the Western Conference playoff picture and they come in off back to back victories. The Suns have gotten good production from Booker, Oubre Jr. and Ayton. That trio trumps what the Hawks roll out and gives Phoenix the win here.
——————————————
The Atlanta Hawks will take on the Phoenix Suns at 7:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday at State Farm Arena. Atlanta is 8-32 overall and 4-14 at home, while Phoenix is 16-23 overall and 7-9 on the road. Phoenix is favored by 3.5 points in the latest Hawks vs. Suns odds
——————————————-

Prediction

Suns 114, Hawks 97

Moneyline (ML)

The Suns are favored at -162. They have won two in a row and three of five, while the Hawks (+135) have lost four straight and eight of 10. They also enter with injury concerns. With no Alex Len, they will be shorthanded up front, giving Suns C DeAndre Ayton and C Aron Baynes a chance to have big games. The Hawks are only 4-14 at home and 3-13 when underdogs at home. The Suns are an even 2-2 when favored on the road.

Phoenix's defensive intensity has returned and Kelly Oubre has scored at least 17 points in eight straight (and 25 or more in half of those). The SUNS (-162) are a comfortable bet in this game.

Predicting a win and a 40 point game from Booker. Hawks are piss poor on defense. Would'nt mind seeing Carter on Trae Young for a bit. I would have Carter playing off guard on offense though. I don't want him running point.

Young may be on the bench in street clothes, in which case Carter would get a T for getting on him.

I don't totally hate PointBook this year the way I did last year. I'm sure we'll get a heavy dose of it tonight.

I’d like to see Ty Jerome get the backup minutes. Need to see if he’s figured it out at all. We know what Carter gives us.

We had better double team him.

Look for Okobo to have a good night offensively......
