Finally forced the issue of signing up to The Athletic, good price too at £2.49 a month.

He’s appealing still but I’m much less into him because of the shooting, which the article also makes clear is his weakness.

We’ve already got a bad 2pt shooter in Rubio so the two of them together, not least at the expense of a better player / shooter in Oubre, doesn’t make a lot of sense .. unless the price is right, but I’m in no rush at this stage to find out what that is.

I'm very skeptical that the season restart will happen. Last week was an all time high in national confirmed cases, and deaths have started rising again as well.

this. I realize Silver needs to find a way to make his bosses money, and half of them don't care if we lose 2-3% of the NBA/arena support staff, or even a few players. But this is getting out of hand pretty quickly.

I think the straw that broke the season's back is the fact that Florida is surging as one of the very worst states in the nation for COVID cases. It won't be safe there. I think in the next 1-2 weeks a wave of players are going to start backing out, and once that starts to happen, they'll fold the season.

Old. If you read the newsletter, she received a bunch of media photos where she was in the middle of things in better times.

That's too bad. I didn't know she had been laid off at The Athletic. I enjoyed reading her coverage there. Thanks for posting that; I subscribed to her newsletter.

Bleh. I’m sure it’s an Orlando deal with a second year team-option, so no risk. But he’s sucked his whole career and we need a 3/4-type way more than another blah PG.

Payne was better last year than he has been his entire career, and he was having a really good year in the G League this season.

Payne is certainly worth a look. A two-year deal? I'd like to see the numbers on that.

Wouldn’t be hard to be better than what we’ve currently got. I guess at some point one of these backup pg’s will hit, just kinda comical the number we’ve gone through. Also a decent amount of the one’s we’ve let go have gone on to be successful elsewhere.
