Around the League: Offseason

Re: Around the League: Offseason
Pokusevski went 4/8 from 3 tonight. 15/8 for the Thunder. Maledon looked great for them too with 20 off the bench.
Re: Around the League: Offseason
Yeah, I noticed the same thing.
Re: Around the League: Offseason
Giannis giving Bobby Portis love in the press conference. I guess he didn't get them memo.
Re: Around the League: Offseason
Nice debut for Isaac Okoro

I'll probably screen grab that and post it on Ryan McDo's Twitter the next time he feels like he's offering so expert insight to the game of basketball.

Wow. Poor guy. What a horrible year for him.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Brooklyn is stacked. The main thing working against them is going to be the drama.

This is just a great exchange. Still not sure if it's for real or for laughs

Re: Around the League: Offseason
KD was the best offensive player in the league when he was injured. Kyrie is the closest guy to Harden as a scoring guard when he's right physically (and mentally?). Throw in a little D'Antoni offensive philosophy and they're gonna be potent.
I wouldn't take too much away from this pre-season game though. They're playing against a team of kids for the most part.

You can already see the seeds of KG and Kyrie falling out with each other. They are already arguing about how many ballhogging shots Kyrie should take. He wants to post up? And they're debating whether it should be 2-3 times a game or 8 times a game? Blech. I love KD's game but he seems like kind of a knucklehead to me. And Kyrie is just straight up crazy.

Two unlikeable players. Harden would fit right in
Re: Around the League: Offseason
I know it's the Pistons and it's preseason but I've watched both their games now and am glad we didn't sign Grant. Just not a fundamentally sound player, ugly game overall, looked a lot better in Denver and should've stayed there. He's a scrappy off the bench type, not a starter put-you-over-the-top type.
Saddiq Bey looks nice as a rook tho. Killian Hayes does some real nice things too, just needs some seasoning but he looks the part and doesn't seem too overwhelmed.

We signed Saric and Crowder for less combined than Grant got. That signing was dumb on like 6 levels.ShelC wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 6:41 pmI know it's the Pistons and it's preseason but I've watched both their games now and am glad we didn't sign Grant. They’re 2 men with rather thin egos when it comes to media, public criticism. Some star athletes know how to navigate it, some don’t. What they’ve managed to do is find a way to one another and leverage their power to stick their nose back up. They probably feel like what they’re doing is noble or setting a new standard. But they seem to have little appreciation that they come off as petty and childish.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 5:35 pmYou can already see the seeds of KG and Kyrie falling out with each other. I understand being cagey now and then when asked dumb questions or being hounded for dirt by the media. But they only draw worse attention onto themselves.
