Game Day: Suns (8-8) vs Warriors (10-8), Thursday, 1/28/2021
Time: 8:00 pm AZ (7:00 pm PT/10:00 pm ET)
Place: Phoenix Suns Arena, PHX, Arizona
TV: FSAZ/TNT
After ringing in the new year with a win on Jan 1st to move to 5-1, the Suns have since gone 3-7 in their last 10 games with every lost being by single digits including 3 in OT. Monty Williams was very short with his answers and was clearly the most visibly frustrated he's been, the team on a whole is in a funk dealing with losing in similar fashion repeatedly and one of my favourite boards has also become a hive of negativity as fans voice their issues with the team.
Well I will keep plodding on with the guys as we welcome Steph, Kelly and Wiseman to town. Warriors coming off back to back wins (against the Wolves) which doesn't say much IMO so still comes down to the Suns will win once they play solid basketball and not in spurts.
Go Suns!!!

Oubre going for 25pts and 10 pushups.

I think this will be another loss. The team is playing poorly and really misses Booker. Our swings are out of sorts, and Chris Paul will be gassed after trying to carry us across the finish line last night. Meanwhile the Warriors are starting to round into form and becoming more comfortable.
I don't think we match up well with them. Who's going to stop Curry? Old ass Chris Paul? I do think that Oubre is secretly a weapon on our side, since he'll probably shoot 5-19 trying to show us up. And we have great swing defenders who can stop him. Similar feelings about Wiggins; we should have good defenders on him like Crowder and Cam Johnson. Wiseman will be an interesting matchup. In theory Ayton should be well suited to shutting him down, but will he?
Is Draymond Green playing? I feel like he is a bad matchup for us. We don't have a bulky PF to bang with him and keep him off the boards.

I hope the Suns are ready to swallow this big L
Kliff and Kyler, Monty and Chris. Two pairings with the same problems- coaches with zero clue as to how to adapt or guts to demand more of their leaders. Players with zero desire to change their style of play

We should keep a tally of how many times Paul crosses half court with 16 seconds or less on the clock.
And where do you find how many shots we take in each phase of the shot clock?

Ha, found it on NBA.com.
We lead the league in number of FGAs "very late" in the shot clock (4-0 seconds left).
And last in the league for FGAs very early in the clock (22-24).

IF ANY BEATWRITERS/REPORTERS ARE READING THIS PLEASE ASK MONTY ABOUT THESE STATS AND WHAT HE PLANS ON DOING TO ADDRESS IT.

You really think he would answer that? He trusts in Paul.

Pathetic.
They won’t. Kellan Olsen was told busy slobbering all over CP3 on Twitter last night.

He has loved CP3 for a long time. I am not sure how old Kellan is, but I think CP3 is his quintessential PG. I thought he said he was in middle school during the beginning of 7SOL. So I think he has seen more Paul and Nash. It might color his perspective.specialsauce wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 2:38 pmPathetic.

Big win tonight. Fools gold though. CP3 will go back to pounding sand for 20 seconds and Ayton will continue to be inconsistent after this game.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Great find on he shot clock stats, Indy. We don't need to see the stats since we've been watching, but it sure feels validating to see it. Same with # of passes before a shot. There are so many possessions with 1 or fewer passes when CP3 has the ball.

Thanks. And that is how he keeps his assists stats up there.

CP is more of a PnR guard with no big to roll as that's not DA's strength. And our 0.5 offense doesn't require a ball dominant PG to begin with, even tho we made do with Rubio. But it's proven just as effective, if not more, with Payne and Book handling the ball and getting others involved. Quite the pickle we seem to be in.

I never have liked pickles.ShelC wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 3:30 pmCP is more of a PnR guard with no big to roll as that's not DA's strength. I like that Monty seems upset lately, dude can't coach his way out of a wet paper bag. I'm done with this whole set up aside from Bridges. Everything else can just go.
