our best defense would be to stay home on everyone and let Austin Rivers shoot it from deep as much as possible. As the chant said in my section tonight, AUS-TIN RIV-ERS... SUCKS!pickle wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 5:31 pmCan't assume anything with these guys, they have shown their resiliency. I also think Jokic might have had some fatigue from the Portland series set in during game 1. I kind of wish that series had gone 7 so we had more time to rest, but it's cool the way it is right now.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 4:37 pmI hope the Suns are still keyed in on Monte Morris. He's not going to shoot 1-10 again, and the Nuggets had a lot of good looks in the first half of game one.
Rivers might also start making some shots.
Go Suns!

Nothing wrong with that. I hope the Suns are too. Can't take our foot off the pedal until the Nuggets are in our rear view mirror and we are in the WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS, BABY!!!Wally_West wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 8:29 pm
Is it wrong that I still don’t believe Denver is going to go down so easy? Denver has show time and time again that they don’t have any quit. This game is probably out of hand but the series is not.
Maybe I’m being cautious to a fault tho…

And yet we end the game shooting over 47% from 3. I am not sure we can lose a game if we take nearly 40 3s and make 47% of them.Split T wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 7:42 pmYa it’s the 2/6 from Ayton and Paul, Cam 0/3 on 2s. Bridges 0/3 on wide open corner 3s. Craig is 0/3 toopickle wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 7:39 pmI get that perspective, but I’m not hugely bothered by this. I know that we shot something like 6/15 for 40% from 3, but we actually I think if we look at our expected fg% from three we probably shot worse than we could have given how open most of those threes were as well as several bunnies missed at the rim and the two strange jumpers by CP3. Love the defensive effort so far. Awesome steal and dunk by Booker.Wally_West wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 7:31 pmI’m glad Suns up 10 at half but you just know Nuggets 3s are gonna starting falling at some point. Hope the Suns are prepared. Our offense needs too to be precise in the 2nd half.

Ugh I hated that chant. Hated the wave too. Too early. But damn the arena was a party tonight, so loud. My ears are ringing

Mike Malone is pissed, but I think this is on him just as much as it’s on his players. They don’t have an answer for us right now. We spend the first half figuring out what they’re going to do defensively and then we just annihilate them in the 2nd half. They just have bad defenders everywhere. Malone needs to change up the scheme or change the players. In all honesty it just doesn’t appear like the nuggets have the talent to keep up. We’re just flat out better. This is so fun!

The level of play has been...insane...in a good way.
Finals - Suns - Brooklyn
Any takers?
If this happens, I'll be in Phx for one of those games...and first round at Majerle's for board members before one of the games are invited to be on me.

Well, one of those was against the Clippers. Their 2nd best player is Paul 41% FG George.Split T wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 8:31 pmThey’ve been great at making adjustments in the past…I mean you don’t come back from 3-1 twice if you’re not great at that. I just don’t think they have enough…they can’t defend us. They’d just have to get white hot for a few games to have a shot.Wally_West wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 8:29 pm

Teams that have won the first two games of an NBA best-of-seven playoff series are 300-22 (93.2%) all-time.

I'll take the bait and be the wet blanket.
The Suns had no answer for AD before his groin injury. If they play the Clippers in the WCF, George and Leonard will give the Suns more trouble than Jokic. Then KD and Kyrie will be waiting in the Finals if the Suns make it that far.
I'm not saying Jokic is overrated or the Suns haven't been really good defensively, but there's a bit of a forest to see through the trees with the Suns defensive rating.
