I don't totally buy those historical stats about teams with young centers. The game has changed a lot in recent years, especially regarding big men. And this year's Suns team is anything but typical.
He addressed that too. Still doesn't change the fact that no team starting a 22 year old center has ever won an NBA championship.

Yeah I know he is undersized a bit as a true center, but it would be nice to have a guy that you know could play 25-30 minutes in a game if he had to, and not be a huge negative in the game. We don't have anyone like that right now outside of Ayton. Dario has had some stretches, but not consistently.

Some of that is just semantics. I mean Tim Duncan was starting and won a championship at 22. But they called him a forward.

Tim Duncan was playing forward when he won his first ring.

Fortunately, Game 7 of the Finals will go to overtime, so we will win the championship at 12:00 AM eastern (Nassau) time on July 23, so Ayton will no longer be 22 when we win the title and he lifts the golden Larry O'Brien Trophy on his golden birthday.

We will win the championship with Kaminsky starting at Center and DA starting at PF.

Our depth is one of our greatest strengths. We have almost nobody on the entire roster about whom I say, "Oof, he's bad, get him out of there and back onto the bench." It's an impressive roster construction, despite being a little thin at backup big-man spots.
Yep, really the only time you could say that was when we were playing Damian Jones...I don’t count Jalen or Ty-Shon because they only play garbage minutes anyways.
Eh. I think there have been too many times you could say that about Carter and Frank.

Thank you. I think there are a whole lot of apples and oranges comparisons within that data set AND when comparing that data to today's game/this Suns team.

I think those numbers are as valuable as those stupid "only player to average 15/5/5" data sets that paired Eric Bledsoe and LeBron James during Bledsoe's regrettable tenure here.

But that was next to David Robinson. Duncan was legitimately playing the 4 then. What I don't count are the years where they would play Rasho Nesterovic or Francisco Elson for 16 minutes at the 5 and still try to claim Duncan was a 4.

Maybe I need to go back and watch some games from those Finals, but it in my mind they were both playing the 5.

Yeah, Duncan certainly saw time there, but Robinson was protecting him.

Suns in 3. We so thoroughly humiliate our opponents that they refuse to show up for Game 4.

After shoving Paul in the back at the end of Game 3?

Yes, that would certainly be less stressful.
