The 2021 Suns Offseason
Re: The 2021 Suns Offseason
How do we get Nance here?
Re: The 2021 Suns Offseason
Would you bring Oubre back at the MLE? Doesn’t solve our size issue though.
Batum signed with the Clippers. Not sure much is still out there at the 4…Millsap, Rudy Gay…did Chicago have to renounce Markkanen? Probably not if they sign and traded for Ball. Vanderbilt is more of a 5 I think.

At least he's better than Frank Kaminsky.
He also has a YouTube channel that's not completely terrible.

Flex mentioned THT also a little while ago.
We still need another playable big. I don't see McGee as the first big off the bench or capable of guarding faster 4s.

Hey, he's an Olympian. He's got to be great, right?

THT would be interesting. Undeniably talented but makes a lot of boneheaded mistakes. Saucy will love him.

Suns just doubled their number of Olympians. It's good timing to see him match up against two Spanish old guys tonight.

Re: The 2021 Suns Offseason
So that's 11 roster spots. I'd still like to see them sign a big forward since we can't assume Smith is going to make some great jump over the offseason.
I would think there might also be some interest in bringing back Nader, Moore and Kaminsky but it sounds like Galloway is looking for more playing time next year.
PF - Crowder, Smith, Saric (IR)
SF - Bridges, Johnson
C - Ayton, McGee
PG - Paul, Payne
SG - Booker, Shamet
FA - Alexander, Galloway, Kaminsky, Moore, Nader

I find Bill Simmons increasingly annoying as days go by, but I'll always agree with him on this; there's no reason to lock yourself into your roster in July/August.

Re: The 2021 Suns Offseason
I’m ok with McGee deal. We needed some more size which he provides. As others have said, we still need another big forward.
I also think we need some more 3point shooting and play making. I think there will be some decent options through free agency, but they’ll be low key rather than flashy moves, more than likely.

Not bad. I didn't used to like him due to all his boneheaded decisions but he has looked much better to me in recent years. We can definitely use his rim protection. Twin towers, anyone? Let's see Giannis get through that.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

We need someone who can play with Ayton in big lineups. I hope it was the DPE that went to McGee and not part of the MLE.

He can’t shoot for shit. Not interested. Not sure where he fits on this team.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 5:41 pmTHT would be interesting. Undeniably talented but makes a lot of boneheaded mistakes. Saucy will love him.

Re: The 2021 Suns Offseason
I've been reading the speculation about DPE vs MLE and I don't think that anyone really knows -- not even the Suns. They'll apply for the DPE tomorrow and don't even know if they'll get it. My guess is that all they did was to commit to a contract with McGee and that it will be DPE if they get it, part of the MLE if they don't.
Who's left on the table for MLE? Would be funny if the Suns get Oubre for the MLE.
Edit: and I'm still on board for a big, mobile, athletic PF to play with Ayton. Maybe it's Smith, maybe it's someone else the Suns pick up. Either way, it's needed.

Who's THT?
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Methinks it's Talen Horton-Tucker

I can see Frank, Nader and possibly Moore back. The Bobster wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 5:47 pmSo that's 11 roster spots. I'd still like to see them sign a big forward since we can't assume Smith is going to make some great jump over the offseason.

Frank is OK against certain teams.
I think Williams likes Nader, who plays bigger than 6-5 (he has a 7-1 wingspan)
Moore is combo guard and a good clubhouse influence.
None will break the bank...
