I think I just realized that I've never actually watched AD and thought "man, he's a problem for us/the rest of the league". Maybe there were times early in his NOLA days, but not anytime recently.
He’s a suped up Shawn Marion

Watching a closely contested non-Suns game and seeing how the last 2 minutes of game time takes 15 minutes of real time, I can see how NBA action is sometimes not worth the effort for casual fans. But go Knicks (today only)!
I wish they could find a way to stop all the timeouts, intentional fouls, and other stoppages from ruining the game. I think I would do a rule change where if a player is intentionally fouled, the fouled team can choose either to shoot 2 FTs or just re-inbound the ball. That would probably stop some of the riffraff.
If you really want to stop the intentional fouling make it one shot and possession in the last two minutes, or 3 FT to make 2 in the backcourt like it was years ago. That would also take a lot of the incentive out of fouling just to prevent a fast break.

He's a versatile defender and good rebounder like Marion, but also a great shotblocker. And offensively he was at his best the last couple of years in New Orleans when he was scoring 28 points a game and was more efficient. You would have thought hat being the second option in Los Angeles would have made him more efficient, but it hasn't, and his scoring has dipped some from where it was the last few years in New Orleans.

Davis is a great player, but I don't think anyone includes him in their discussions about the best player in the league anymore. He doesn't fall in the 1-5 group like some thought, he's in the 6-10 area when ranking players.

I was a little scared of him in last year's playoff series against the Lakers; he was a tough matchup. But then he went down and was out for the rest of the games, which seems to be a pattern for him. In the past 1-2 years he seems maybe out of shape to me. His body language is weird; he kind of drags his legs and stretches and bends in weird ways. He doesn't have the "springiness" I would expect him to have. And in general he doesn't really look fit or muscular. My guess is that he just doesn't work on his conditioning or game in the offseason, which is limiting his ceiling.

I still don't get why he was put in the top-75 players of all time. What exactly did he do to merit that? Win one title as the second-best player?

I am still scared of Davis unlike you guys, but I do agree that he doesn’t have that alpha mentality so I’m only scared of him when he’s clearly hot. He still has that rare blend of size and athleticism that makes him special. If he were more aggressive that would make him scarier.

He’s scary if he’s the number 2 to LeBron…not scary if he’s the #1 guy.

That's really not even close to a charge. I guess it's hard to get right when he starts his gather from 10-feet away from the rim.

The main argument for the charge is that he puts his hand on the head of the defender and pushes his head. But yeah I'd just let that go and let the man have his nasty dunk.

Yes, that makes it an offensive foul, but I really hate that kind of defense.

Ya but that’s to brace for the impact. Defender wasn’t set when Edwards started his leap. I also absolutely hate the idea of someone just running up and sliding under a player or just standing in the way. Even if the defender was standing in the same spot the whole play, I wouldn’t call a charge. Charges are the worst.

Edwards started his gather way before the defender was set. It's the defenders fault if he gets his own face smashed because the offensive player has the right to protect himself from a bad fall.

He said long ago that he plans to go full Jackie Moon when he returns.

You shouldn’t put down clowns like that.
