W00t. looking at box, why booker not credited with that block?
They gave us the ball so I think they called it an offensive foul
Right. Just the clean block would've been a jump ball, but they switched the foul to DFS.
Fair enough, but way i see it, block happened first ... credit where it's due ;) Sure Book don't care tho

Checked the stats and the suns still have the best clutch team in the league by a large margin. They have a net rating of 42, so we’re out scoring opponents by 42 points per 100 possessions in the clutch. We have the top offensive rating at 133.1 and the 2nd best defensive rating at 90.8. Washington has a defensive rating of 90.0 and also have the 2nd best net rating at 25. We lead the league in assist rate and turnover rate in the clutch. In fact our A/TO rate is 4.67, next highest is 2.93. We also have the highest efg% and TS%. I’m curious if we’ve seen a team dominate clutch time like we have.

Also of note, Dallas has the worst clutch team in the league. They have a net rating of -33, so we probably should have seen this coming.

I don’t know if you guys know this but we’ve got a really good team. What a win! Played from behind most of the game but never panicked and did their thing in the final 5 minutes. Wow.

Fun game at the end and maybe one of the best wins of the season so far. I don't care that they were on a B2B. This was the last game of a 5 game road trip for us and we didn't have our starting center.

Looked like we just didn't have it in the 1st half with all the missed 3s and letting the Mavs get inside posting Luka and even Brunson. But even with all the misses we were hanging around and staying within striking distance. Then, there was a noticeable shift in the energy and defense from the Suns' starters in the 4th. This team knows it can hold back and doesn't show its hand until crunch time, then they throw different looks on offense and defense to screw the other team up a bit. They pace themselves throughout the game, which is pretty impressive. In the 4th when they turn it on, the other team can't match their intensity.

The Mavs defense has gotten better but I'm still not all that scared of them. They're kind of a janky, inverted team - their best player is a 6-8 230lb SF playing PG while their bigs hang on the perimeter waiting to shoot. The rest of the roster is kind of meh with role players. And even Porzingis isn't a consistent #2. Still, it's tough to find bigs who can guard Porzingis and Kleber inside and out and if those guys are shooting well, they're tougher to beat.

Biyombo was the MVP. He brought the energy and rebounding we needed with the starters in the 4th. Only bench player with a positive +/- and gave the Mavs a tough matchup because of his physicality. Crowder and Bridges had strong games too. Mikal was everywhere in the 4th and really filled it it up with 14-8-6-4. Crowder had some big 3s and helped quiet the crowd down. Guys like Crowder and even Payne may not shoot well most of the game, but they seem to hit the shots when they matter which is why it's a lot easier for me to give them a pass on their percentages.

Haven't been checking here on the forum for a bit, but just wanted to say watching this team - especially in the 4th quarter - is really, really fun.

That was good stuff

End of half, turnovers and bad decisions increased Mavs lead. The 3rd quarter literally ended the same way and I was like man we're making the little mistakes at the wrong times.

4th quarter comes and again just back to regular schedule programming with top execution. Love Book's quote because folks can continue to cry about who was injured yada yada but bottom line is we played high pressure games last year and have clearly grown from being in those moments.

This clutch Rating stat and consistent effort I think bodes so well for the post season.

Once again the Suns flip the switch in the fourth like clockwork.
In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.

Credit to Monty for his rotations in the second half. He didn't play Shamet at all and he basically ran Biyombo out there from the mid-3rd all the way through the 4th. McGee didn't seem to have his usual energy, so not going back to him was a big factor in getting the win.

Funny how once we stopped playing Shamet, everything got better for us. :-)

I bet Jason Kidd got the Mavs posting up smaller players because he remembers that double OT game against 7sol Suns.
I remember we posted Diaw against him every possession down the strech, and it worked.

The first offensive foul on McGee was trash.

The two quick fouls on Shamet in the third were trash.

That Booker block being ruled a foul was understandable but when the refs clearly made a mistake the team should not be punished by taking away the challenge. If you win then you should keep the challenge to use it again.

Biyombo got taken out with 1 min to go after his offensive foul. I wonder how much of it was to teach him a lesson and how much was real matchups.

I liked what Cam J did this game even if he missed a couple of open shots. He’s able to take advantage of the threat of his shot to attack the basket a lot more than Mikal does. Wonder if it has to do with his slightly bigger bulk.

We are playing some tiny lineups these days and I wish we could try a few bigger ones too. Still want to see Stix try to get comfortable at the 4 before the deadline to see if he’s a keeper.

The Reggie Miller joke that Luka’s neck didn’t hurt on the offensive end was funny. But then he went back to it three times. Ugh.

Is anybody else annoyed by the exaggerated magnifying of the net/rim sounds in the Dallas arena?

The other thing I wanted to add, the last couple of games make me value Ayton a lot more. Our current centers cannot create anything in the middle and are really only lob/roll threats. At one point I had thought that Myles Turner would replace 80% of Ayton and be a better three point shooter, but I also feel that he’s not really a weapon on offense. Not to say that we should move Ayton for him, more so that I appreciate what DA does for us.
