Hey, all. Wasn't sure where to put this but no need to report the vhearts PM spam. I and apparently everybody else got this. The spammer was banned as soon as I got it.
Marty, might be something to look into as this was a new one. Brand new posters that haven't been vetted shouldn't be able to send PMs. Thanks.

OK, I think I've set it so that "newly registered users" now have "limited permissions" where they cannot do any private messages. After a user has ~ 5-10 posts (approved by moderators), they auto migrate to the general user pool where they can post freely and send PMs. Let us know here if you see any other spammy crap.

So weird. The thing is, they are supposed to need to complete a captcha and also make 5 posts that are mod-approved before they can send any direct messages. I wonder how these accounts are getting around that.
In the past I found this stuff annoying enough that I just disabled user registration altogether. But then we literally can't let any new users in. Not sure if there is an easy fix.
