You are 1000% trolling. You can’t actually believe Ayton is a viable player anywhere at this point. Stop pointing out that one series in 21 or that one stretch of games on 22. 90 games out of 100 here in Phoenix he was clueless and unengaged. And the team is better off without him. He was supposed to go to Portland and flourish because he was somewhere he was wanted. Guess what, he hasn’t. He still sucks. If you can’t see that I feel bad for you. Everytime I read this thread after you post about Ayton I’m pissed.JeremyG wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2023 6:13 pmAre the people who want Paul over Beal trolling?iLLmatic wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2023 5:06 pmJeremyG is trolling at this point.Split T wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2023 12:57 pmI’m in it now, here’s some stats:
Per-100
Nurkic is 21.9/17.2/6.7/1.7/2.0 with a .553 TS%
Ayton is 20.4/16.7/2.3/1.9/1.2 with a .596 TS%
Both are contesting just over 7 fga per game inside 6 feet. Ayton is giving up 60% shooting and Nurk is giving up 54% shooting.
The suns are +7 with Nurkic on the court and he has a +15 net rating(they are -8 with him off).
Blazers are -11 with Ayton on the court and he has a -8.5 net rating(they are only -2.5 when Ayton sits).
If you want Ayton’s on/off from last year, they were -1.6 with him on and +5.2 with him off for a -6.8 net rating.
Do we need to keep going? Should I bring up Grayson Allen? He’s giving us 12/4/3 in 50/48/90 shooting…a .671 TS%. We also have Nassir Little who’s got a .620 TS%
There’s zero defense for Ayton anymore. You have to flat out lie to defend him at this point as a better option for us. It’s so blatantly obvious Nurk is better. Ok I’m done for awhile…hopefully for good.
If even Nurk is playing that well on this team under Vogel, imagine how great Ayton would be.

At this point it takes quite an imagination.

I can’t wait to hear the excuses when his averages are all the same next year if not worse
Last year: 18/10/1.7/0.8 with 0.6 steals in 30.4 mpg
This year: 12.9/10.8/1.6/0.8 with 1.2 steals in 31.9 mpg

Portland played Dallas today in the battle to finally determine, once and for all, who the best player from the 2018 draft is.
Doncic had a 40 point triple double.
Ayton had…. 7 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists.
Unfortunately, nothing was settled because Vogel couldn’t make it to Portland in time to coach the Blazers. So the debate will have to rage on.

Hey, but Ayton was 1-2 from the FT line. His average is going up so don’t discount that.Shabazz wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2023 10:51 pmPortland played Dallas today in the battle to finally determine, once and for all, who the best player from the 2018 draft is.

Re: All Things Ayton
It’s extremely easy to prove you wrong, just using last season (his least engaged season of all according to the Hayters), and we don’t even have to look at 100 games, to see that your “10 out of 100” claim is false. Ayton played 67 games last season, and he scored 25 or more points in 13 of those games, with between 10 to 21 rebounds in 11 of those 13.
If he can do that while being “clueless and unengaged” then he’s a better player than I’ve ever given him credit for.
Obviously those type of outputs don’t just magically happen from an “unengaged” player, and he was very engaged for many more games than just those.
But the claim of 10 out of every 100 games was so absurd on the face of it that I shouldn’t have needed to prove it wrong.

So you’re happy that he was engaged 20% of the time he was on the court?? No wonder your so pleased with his production, you’re happy with mediocre(at best) engagement.JeremyG wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 9:39 amIt’s extremely easy to prove you wrong, just using last season (his least engaged season of all according to the Hayters), and we don’t even have to look at 100 games, to see that your “10 out of 100” claim is false. Re: All Things Ayton
It’s gonna be funny if Nurkic plays more games this season than Ayton. We already know we get a more consistent effort for Big D Nurk. Dudes just been solid.

He’s regressed to being the worst Center in the west. I’m just glad we got some useful pieces for him when we did.
Holmgren, Wemby, Lively have all zipped by him.
