Some talk of Philly cutting Cam Payne if they get Lowry in the buyout market…we could bring him back. I’d be ok with that.
"A team cannot reacquire a player they traded away during that season (a season being July 1 - June 30). If he is waived by his new team, then he cannot re-sign with his original team until the one-year anniversary of the trade, or until the July 1 following the end of his contract, whichever comes first. However, if a team trades a player's draft rights, they can reacquire the player during the same season."
Payne was traded on July 17.
I agree that Payne would be a nice addition to have at the end of the rotation.

I think that restriction goes away because he’s now been on 3 teams since we traded him. We couldn’t pick him up after the spurs waived him, but once he signed with the Bucks he was free game for us.
Well we’re talking about a 12-15th man…and I thought he looked fine against us. He’s hitting shots this year. If he’s hitting 40% of his 3s, pushing the pace, and fighting on defense he’s definitely playable in small spurts.
Cam Payne is not a good NBA player and it should've been obvious when watching him play big minutes against the Suns in the past week.
Really? I thought he looked pretty good. 11 points, 4 reb, 3 ast in 23 minutes. You still get a bit of tunnel vision with Cam Payne, but he is talented and brings a great energy off the bench. I'd be more than happy to have him back.
As bad as last year's Suns depth chart was claimed to be, several of them would be getting minutes on this team. Cam Payne, Torrey Craig, Bizmack Biyombo, Dario Saric, all of those guys would probably get some run. Not saying our overall depth was better last year, just that they weren't all worthless bums.

He just got traded for Patrick Beverly. That tells you what Milwaukee thought of him.
I think it says that Milwaukee is desperate for backcourt defense, and they think Beverley is an answer for that. Desperation makes people do crazy things sometimes, I guess.
