Trump seems to have won South Carolina roughly 60% to 39% over Nikki Haley. That's a sound victory, but Haley got quite a few votes there. That 40% of the GOP's own electorate is rejecting its presumptive nominee does not bode well for Trump. A decent number of those 40% might not vote for him in the real election in November. In exit polls and surveys many Haley voters have said they would refuse to vote for Trump if he were the nominee. (I don't have the link, but I think it was like 33-40% said that?)

https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/3-takea ... =107521707

Also, it looks like there were some demographic splits in the vote that are interesting. We already posted that Trump did much better with evangelical voters than Haley did. There's also this: Haley seemed to do better with more wealthy and educated voters, while Trump did better with more rural and working-class voters.

Trump appeals to white trash more than Biden or Haley. This isn't surprising. It's not even about what politics are involved when it comes to that man, all the poor whites want the guy who acts like them to be in office.

So Trump has the support of the blue collar workers and the working class, and Biden has the 'elite' class. Since when do Dems disparage the working class, by calling them white trash? Feels kind of classist.

I think you also have to consider in this race that Trump only spent $1 million on the campaign in SC, while Haley spent $15 million. It's been talked about alot that Biden is winning the campaign contributions battle and is building a huge war chest for the election.

LOL at Trump Sim trying to claim he won in 2020. I appreciate that the Fox interviewer won't have it.

I guess it wasn't really the GOP's own electorate. We need some revised election data analysis here when:

1. It was her home state.
2. She out spent Trump $15 to $1 in campaign spending there.
3. SC allowed Dems to vote in the Rep primary.

South Carolina’s primaries are open, which means any registered voter can take part in either the Republican primary or the Democratic primary, but not both. The Democratic primary took place earlier in February. President Joe Biden won easily."

Yes, but according to the exit polls, there was a much higher percentage of Republicans voting in SC compared to NH: https://www.cnn.com/election/2024/prima ... -primary/0

Point is, it wasn't close. Do you know how many Reps voted in the Dem primary?

Trump explains why he got his wife's name wrong and got Biden -> Obama confused. Apparently it was for "comedic" effect. (I don't agree with the video caption, though; I don't think this video is "unhinged.")

His claim should be able to be easily proven or disproven. Was he looking at Melania Trump or Mercedes Schlapp when he said it?
