The worst kept secret in the league is that no one enjoys playing with Trae Young so that "report" is not surprising.

I agree that the pairing isn't optimal, but I am also rolling my eyes at Garland. With Mitchell out of the lineup in Game 5, Garland stunk. So any "him or me" convos should be met with laughter.
Trendon Watford. Please and thank you.

I don't think he would have taken that well. Probably better to not laugh at your players.

He’s tough for us to trade for…Makes slightly too much for Little as the salary match…so it’s gotta be Nurk. Not sure OKC wants Nurk…so it’s probably gotta be a 3-team trade with someone who just wants picks.

Hmm.

Anybody else think he looks like he works at a morgue? That's the type of face and hair that Hollywood casts to play a funeral home director or hearse driver.

Don't know if we could trade Giddey for our pick since it's pick number 22. I hear that Giddey is only interested if it's under 18.

Seeing these teams I think it’s dumb they don’t do positions still. Both of those teams would have defensive issues. I want an all-nba(defense) team that is an actual team you could put on the court.

Even if they did something like three front court, two back court players would be better without having exact traditional positions.

I've never really agreed with the idea that it should be a "realistic" lineup, but I the think this is an acceptable compromise.

I just want a team that makes sense…that 1st team all defense team would have a hard time defending a modern nba team. They are all rim protectors except Herb. I’d rather have the TWolves defense. Give me 1 guard, 1 wing, 1 big, and 2 wild cards.

I don't see the value designating in a lineup that "makes sense" but will never play actually play together.

I think it's better see at a glance who the best 5 defenders were for that year. I don't really care what type of defender they are, just award the guys who're best at stopping their opponent from scoring. Maybe that makes it more difficult for guards to make the "1st team", but size is a reality of basketball.

Isn’t that what DPOY is for? Why not just make it the same award? Vote for DPOY and then 2-5 in votes make up the 1st team. It’s obviously just a difference of opinion, I just prefer it to look like a real team. It’s ok you don’t.

You guys both bring up some interesting points…. Interesting to see how this has changed over the years and how the sports writers pivoted from what we used to do to what it is now.
