Would anyone be surprised to see the Suns deal either Royce or Grayson for picks to sweeten the deal for Butler?
I think there’s a good chance Grayson gets traded. He has the highest value, plus Tyus, Beal, Grayson- one or two have to go to get bigger.

I'll be genuinely sad if they trade Grazin', he and KD feel like the only real knock down 3pt shooters the team has.

I especially don’t want to move Grayson if we trade Beal…Tyus is really the guy we should move. He won’t get us a 1st, but maybe a few 2nds we can add.

Agreed. No surprise if it happens. MIA needs incentive and it's hard to imagine us providing it without surrendering one of Allen or O'Neale.

If we do end up moving Beal, I’d give TyTy a look. He’s tearing up the G league…

It's the GLeague. I'm not sure that you can learn much from gawdy numbers put up there.

Grayson has been working on it.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

That’s why I want to give him a look. I’ve also enjoyed his minutes here. I think he has a lot of shot creation potential.

I vaguely remember him in Houston getting up a ton of shots on limited minutes.

He was pretty bad in Houston as a rookie, but he’s got talent. He’s played 28 total minutes for us…8 points, 4 assists, 2 steals, 1 TO. 3/6 shooting. 2/3 from 3.

Think there’s a world he can develop into a bench scorer. Jordan Clarkson type.

I’m curious about Mamadi Diakite too…6’9 225 and he’s been hitting 3s(43%, 36% in his g league career). He hasn’t made 3s in the nba though.

Gillespie is also playing well. Bridges is hitting 3s, but that seems to be the only thing he can do right now.

Mickey Arison told Jimmy, "We heard you want to play for a contender. So we're going to give you your extension AND bring in Bradley Beal!".

No to the 2031 pick. Hell no to Dunn being any part of a Butler deal.
I believe we are not allowed to add a plyer to the trade of Beal. The CBA will not allow it for 2nd apron teams. We can take back more than one player to make the deal work. I guess we could trade Dunn to another team for draft picks and include those in a deal for Butler. I doubt that is going to happen.

Asl long as Butler does not come with a 2 or 3 year extension in place, I say we make the trade. This is the only way we can get out of the Beal contract.

If they make the playoffs and win a series or two, I extend Butler and KD. If they don't Butler is gone, and I trade both Booker and KD to the highest bidder.

If Butler does not like that, he can stay in Miami.

However, we will still have Beal to deal with and that is a bigger problem than Butler would be under my plan.

The Beal trade for CP3 might be the worst in the history of this franchise.
What was the reason to get rid of Monty again? Oh yeah, that guy we drafted rather than Doncic.

We can add a player to the Beal for Butler trade as an FYI…

Being in the 2nd apron makes it illegal to aggregate salaries(combining salaries to trade for someone with an even larger salary), but it doesn’t outlaw trading multiple players. If the trade is legal as separate trades, it can be done in one trade…

So Beal for Butler is legal and Dunn for a vet min contract is legal…therefore they can be combined into one trade: Beal and Dunn for Butler and a vet min.

The Suns have made multiple trades that are worse than the Beal trade. Kurt Thomas and two 1st round picks for cash is an easy example. DJ for Rick Robey is another. Goran Dragic for Aaron Brooks. Trading away picks that became Rajon Rondo and Luol Deng. Trading for Brandon Knight. Dan Majerle for Hot Rod Williams. Barkley for Houston's puu-puu platter.

Anyway, if we blow it up and trade Book/KD for a mountain of picks and youngs, I am not upset if we still have Beal left on the team after that. We'll need *somebody* to put up shots, even on a gutter dwelling team. And we'll probably have dumped most of our big salaries, so Beal's $50m won't hurt us much. Have to hit that salary floor!

Also, Beal will eventually turn into an expiring contract, and at that point he may actually have some trade value for us. We'll see.

BRING ON THE REBUILD!

With each passing day I am more against trading for Butler. I think we should ride out this season and let the cards fall where they may, then look at tearing it down in the off-season.

This.

I'm so fucking over this team as constructed. Aim for a Hail Mary. If it doesn't work, don't resign butler. Blow it all up.

Status quo ain't it.
