At this rate, Miami will keep Butler, trigger him into doing something suspendible, rinse/repeat, and not have to pay him the rest of the season.

Player unions will never allow the heat to not pay a player. Maybe if there was some criminal element but that’s not the case. Gonna be interesting to see what the players union will do if the Heat can keep getting away with not paying a player if this suspension stuff continues.

Beal is definitely not a good fit here, but at least he has shown true professionalism, you could see him enjoying his time on the court last game (even if he has probably mixed feelings about his situation). That's something I appreciate.
Butler is killing any leverage Riley has (or think he has). Heat fans must be burning his jerseys.

Gotta say, Jimmy Butler isn't impressing me with how he is handling the situation. Your team says they want to bench you, partly because YOU WANT A TRADE, and they don't want you to get injured while they are working on that trade. And partly because you are refusing to participate properly in practices and games and such. So you walk out?

I don't know why we want a guy who would act like that on this team. Beal, for all his imperfections, he's handling this situation like a pro and with class and maturity.

Butler’s not even a starter? Well, that should reduce his cost in trade. They can have their pick of our subs. I would not have said that before Dunn took Beal’s starting spot.

We’re desperate and he’s good at basketball. That’s why we’re willing. Also the situations that are causing his behavior don’t exist here.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not approving of his behavior, but he won’t act like this in Phoenix…at least not at first.

The other thing is Miami might not trade him if he behaves…Miami isn’t showing a lot of desire to take the trade offers and if Jimmy isn’t causing problems, they’d likely just keep him. Is the behavior a red flag? Certainly, but we aren’t in position to get difference makers that don’t have red flags. I’ll take these red flags(because it’s not necessarily permanent behavior) over say Miles Bridges red flags and we entertained him last year.

Yall some dorks!

The moral compass police are out here in full force today and on X with Beal's wife.

Uhh, how about you spend some of your $50M and get your kids a private suite. Your own fault for taking your 6 year old to a sporting event where there are a bunch of intoxicated people and your husband isn't performing up to expectations of a passionate fan base.

Imagine someone trying to say this in Philly.

Fans heckling players is part of the game, and it’s not going to stop because you brought Brad’s kid. The heckler probably didn’t know, and even if he did: this is why he bought his ticket. You can’t expect him to throw that money away to accommodate you. If it’s not a good environment for your kid, don’t bring your kid into it. It’s not going to change because you do.

It’s kinda nice to agree with you for a change. We should try it more often.

And when I say “We should try it,” I mean your opinions should change to match mine. :P

I want Jimmy. Anyone against a Jimmy trade is just being silly. Unless it’s because you don’t want to give 3 1st then yeah you right, I don’t want to trade 3 1st either. I might be able to get talked into that if we get like six 2nd round picks back but I think that’s unlikely. Max is two 1st.

Dunn absolutely won’t get traded so no reason to entertain that idea.

The people that don't want Jimmy because of his antics are the ones that don't go 46 in a 45. Never sampled the candy in the self serve grocery store buckets as a kid. Return their grocery carts every time no matter what lol.
