Gregory is an empty suit Ishbia yes-man with Bartelstein really running point for everything behind the scenes since he's the connection to the rest of the league. Gregory has no connections or (likely) respect from other agents/execs.

I'm betting Gregory is tasked with creating and maintaining the basketball environment and all the "player programs" and "player development" depts and categories that Ishbia thinks is lacking because he sees some other front offices doing it. So Ishbia uses Bartelstein to acquire the players and Gregory oversees everything once they're on the roster and in the building.

It would certainly be possible for us to botch this summer and make this team worse. We can blow the coaching hire. We can blow a potential KD trade; as much as I think KD needs to go, we will be even worse if we trade him for scrubs and magic beans. We could blow our relationship with Booker and make him want out. We can blow the draft. We can blow our summer FA signings.

I certainly hope we don't botch those things. But with buffoons in charge of the team, why wouldn't they get most of these decisions wrong? What evidence do we have that they have any idea what they are doing?

The most important thing we need to get established as an organization is being aligned. Alignment is important building block in anything successful organization. Ishy and I been aligned for many years now, since our Michigan State days. Go Spartans! That’s an interesting thing people forget about the Spartans, those guys were so freakin’ aligned. You guys see that movie, 300? Everyone of those juicy hunks were aligned in that movie. Hell, I got very aligned watching that movie, anybody else? Don’t be shy now, it’s okay to admit. It’s 2025 after all.

It’s that type of laser focus alignment I look forward to finding in our next head coach. Whatever move we make, we finna be aligned, believe dat. Ishy, Joshie Boy, Jamesy J, Devin and Kevin, we been aligning a lot the last few days. I’m aligning so fuckin hard right now, and can’t wait to align with you all here today and especially this fanbase.

I watched it “delayed live” so I watched most of it on 2x speed trying to catch up and he sounded a lot better/smarter than the parts I watched on 1x speed.
