But I guess it was all just some giant conspiracy I cooked up when Deandre Ayton was a 1-year old baby in the Bahamas, to make all of you think I was actually a Suns fan when in reality I was just an Ayton fan, but would not start mentioning him until 19 years later?

Seems reasonable to me.

(j/k, someone has to give you a hard time)

Y'all really can't keep Ayton's name out of your mouths, can you? Even to the point of violating Mori's new rule about not mentioning Ayton except in this thread. SMH.

Seriously? How many hundreds of times do we have to go over this? I've been a known Suns fan online since I was a kid in 1999. That's literally almost three decades of posting about the Suns lol.

Like I said before, this place just keeps getting weirder.
You want to talk about this?

First of all, you are like an alcoholic when it comes to Ayton. We all have to walk on eggshells about the dude because his #1 fan lives here and will defend him to the ends of the earth and derail any thread? That's why this thread still exists. Because of you. Because you won't leave it alone. All of us here are Suns fans before any certain player except you. We've had those people before but they've come and gone. Penny fans, check. Shaq fans, check.

Maybe you've been a long-time Suns fan but it took Ayton for you to join the message board. It's pretty obvious that your Suns fandom is tainted by Ayton. Since Ayton was traded, almost every one of your posts has been negative and seems to be Ayton-inspired whether it truly is or not. You are taking the fun out of it for a lot of folks. You are a major contributor to your perceived "weirdness" around here.

He definitely makes this a worse place. We've had a few over the years. The others aren't around anymore. This has nothing to do with allowing freedom of opinions. It's a schtick and a sad and pathetic one. And he has the audacity to play the victim, tell all of us we're making things weird around here and makes fun of the fact that the site owner isn't posting anymore. His constant shit posting surely has put many of us on edge and the walk on eggshells you talk about Bone is true. We all have to sort of tell Jeremy off but only kind of because we have to be accepting of him for some reason. This site had no problem getting rid of some of the cancers but he gets to keep festering for whatever reason.

He can blah blah blah on and on about being a Suns fan since whenever and Ayton had nothing to do with his fandom. The reality is that his Ayton fandom is far stronger than his Suns fandom and it's painful AF everytime he engages most of us. It's trashing ownership, trashing Booker, trashing the Suns on the regular. It's bad enough we've had to endure an especially shitty season. The salt in the wounds and this Goddamn dedicated thread to appease him is a joke. It's not here to appease us, it's here to appease HIM and keep him around. Why... Who knows.

He clearly feels untouchable at this point. I can assure you that the vast majority of folks here don't like Jeremy and his representative bullshit but Mori has catered to him time and again. We've banned plenty of folks but at least they were fans of the Suns. This guy is something else. There's better places to talk Suns these days and I blame the vast majority of that on Jeremy being here.

What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Hi, I'm temporarily coming out of my self-imposed hiatus to respond about this issue.

Folks have reached out asking me to resolve the personal conflicts on the site since I am the site owner. But I do not want this burden; I feel overwhelmed by other obligations, and I am in the midst of a break from posting on the site, so I haven't even read many of the offending messages. I don't feel well equipped to make decisions on handling conflicts on the site right now.

I would like to transfer this responsibility and burden to someone else. Specifically, in the same way that a good NBA owner should put smart basketball people around him and trust / empower them to make good decisions, I want to trust the good mods on this site to make good decisions that are in the best interests of the site and its users.

I hereby empower the site mods to make whatever decision they feel is best. The current site moderators are: @carey , @Charlie Smithy! , @INFORMER , @Split T , and @Superbone . If you guys want to talk it over, you can DM to come to a decision. I respect what you choose to do. (If you guys don't know how to use the site mod/admin UI to make various changes, please DM me and I will help.)

To others on the site: If the mods announce a decision or policy, please respect and follow it. I trust them, they've all been here a long time, and they're good folks who will do what is best for the community here.

Thanks, Marty. I can totally understand being overwhelmed in life at various points due to family and work and whatever else life throws at us. Hang in there and know we're rooting for you. The mods will huddle in PM and make a decision. Thanks for everything you do for this site so that we can continue to hang out in this corner of the internet with a group that's been together for a very long time now and talk Suns.

No player is bigger than the club!
That‘s what we say here in Europe - and we are quite passionate about our football clubs (soccer).

Ayton is no longer a Sun, move on!
My vote - delete this thread.

Seconded….

If only our fandom was half as good as the football clubs in Europe.

It‘s not just football.
It‘s basketball too.

Europe is different. 😉

That's it... I think it's time we, as a site, buy a section and turn it up Euro style for a game. We might not last a quarter, but we'll make memories... And the 10 o'clock news. LOL

How about a compromise, sheesh! I don't want to watch basketball in a war zone.

Soccer arena are bigger. So there's the "war zone" and a bigger "family friendly zone".
Still the entire arena is feeling the energy.
Sheesh, first time I went to a pro soccer match, you could feel the ground vibrating two miles away, no kidding.

Basketball arenas are quite smaller. In Belgium, it's way more family friendly. You have the chants, the clapping, but no way they would allow pyrotechnics

I don't like the deleting threads or censoring this subject. I like bashing Ayton, and some poster feels like he HAS to defend the bum everytime we talk about him. Like we are repeating Candyman 3 times or some shit. I'm in favor of ignoring any answer. And I would like to continue bashing the best NBA (2k) player.

He's not, though. Booker beat him in the NBA 2K Championship.

My suggestion...given the rock in the shoe, its never going away of this black hole...let's give this hysteria its own place to um, fester? Go to the forum root, label it as a single topic thread for the board, can call it...The Festering Black Hole That is Deandre Ayton.

We thus never have to see his name in the main forum, and anyone that wants to discuss the now labeled New He Who Will Not Be Named can carry on to their heart's content...
