Shohei was in the news for his translator placing bets but that story went away quickly.
I didn't closely follow that story, but it seemed super fishy to me. Caught betting on sports? Oh, uh, that wasn't me, that was my translator. Yeah, sure.
IMO It's only a matter of time before we have an even bigger betting-related scandal that really rocks the sports world. They've all embraced the online betting apps and prop betting so deeply with so much money behind them that they've really set up a big risk of losing fans due to a scandal.
Won't post everything having to do with Beal but Clippers fans are going thru it right now with him. I think he's really dropped off physically and once that happens to some players, there's not much they can do if their game is based on speed and explosion.

The wild thing is, Beal is only 32 years old. He has aged like milk.
In retrospect, maybe Washed Beal, Washed Tyus and Terrible Nurkic as starters, along with rookie Dunn, fat Grayson, Bol Bol, one of the Plumlees, and disengaged Royce weren't the championship caliber complementary pieces we convinced ourselves they were.

I mean I'm cool with it. Same goes for Durant. I don't care enough about Tyus or Nurkic. My give a fk about Ayton is almost at 0% finally, only took a couple years.

It's really striking how shitty that roster is when you list it out like that.
I'm sure in Durants eyes as long as he's going out and getting paid to play a game he loves, he could care less if he wins.
He reminds me of that old timer at the company that's on short timers and just putting in his time and has "earned" his right to not give a crap; whom ultimately needs to be removed due to their cancerous attitudes.
My memory of Wilkens is the coaching job he did taking Seattle to the Finals in 1978 and 1979.
In 1977-78 he took over a 5-17 team during the season and all the way to the finals where they lost to Washington. In 1978-79 he took the Sonics back to the Finals, beating the Suns in the WC Finals in the first of many soul-crushing Suns loses that I can recall. The Sonics then wen on and defeated the Bullets in a rematch for Seattle's only NBA title.
