It's good he's getting run but this is a case where the player is too good for the GLeague. And he's either not good enough for the NBA right now and/or buried on the depth chart. He's a player tho. I don't know if Fleming and Malauch need the NBA coaching and practice vs playing time in the Gleague. I suspect they need the coaching first rather than the games to stay sharp.

I really like Koby Brea (and our other rooks). I hope they'll get some real minutes for us soon. I would rather see Maluach play at this point than Oso. And I think Fleming can contribute more than just garbage time minutes.

It was 26 points on 10-25 shooting, 5-17 from 3. I'm not sure he's too good for the league based on this performance, unless Jaden Shackelford (25 on 7-15, 2-7) or Damion Baugh (24 points, 8 assists on 6-15, 2-6) are also too good.

Team got beat again, too, although they almost made it a game down the stretch and were far more competitive than their 40-point loss in the first game.

Must be a flu bug going around. Grayson Allen had flu-like symptoms, now it's Royce O'Neale.

NBA.com Power Rankings www.nba.com/news/power-rankings-2025-26-week-4
#17 Phoenix Suns
Last Week:23↑

This season’s Suns may be the exact opposite of last season’s Suns. Low expectations, pleasantly surprising results. They swept their home-and-home set with the Clippers and have won four of their last five games overall.

Three takeaways

-- Jalen Green had a terrific season debut, scoring 29 points (going 6-for-13 from 3-point range) on Thursday, when the Suns outscored the Clippers by 22 points in less than 15 minutes with him and Devin Booker on the floor together. But two nights later, Green reaggravated his hamstring injury in the first quarter, a setback that will likely put him back on the shelf for a while. He had played in 193 straight games (including playoffs) before this season.

-- The Suns are one of two teams that rank in the top 10 in both 3-point percentage (37.9%, 10th) and the percentage of their shots that have come from 3-point range (47.4%, fifth). Booker, Royce O’Neale and Grayson Allen are three of the 12 players who’ve shot better than 40% on at least 60 3-point attempts.

-- The difference between the Suns’ first five games (1-4, minus-9.8 points per 100 possessions) and their last five (4-1, plus-9.4) has been about even on both ends of the floor. With the struggles of the team (the Clippers) that they’ve played three times, it’s been a pretty soft schedule overall, as six of their 10 games have come against teams that rank in the bottom 10 on both ends of the floor.

Coming up: The Suns have a great opportunity to climb above .500, with their next three games coming against New Orleans, Dallas and Indiana. They’re the only Western Conference team that hasn’t played a game against the East, and after they host the Pacers and Hawks this week, they won’t have another game against the East until after Christmas.

Week 4: vs. NOP, @ DAL, vs. IND, vs. ATL

I hope he has a flu game too like Grayson. Williams had it too I believe and played pretty well.

I'm betting 3 months... hoping for a grade 2 tear, but from his response and needing to be carried off... might be worse :(

I think Brea's being overrated by a few folks.

For such a pure shooter, honestly I just want him out there getting reps and putting up a bunch of shots to build his confidence. By the time he's ready to rejoin the Suns, I want him to have played a bunch of G-League games where he drained a bunch of 3s and cooked the competition.

General observation so far is that Mark Williams been so strong but we are still missing him quite often

On the dribble drives and pick n rolls the guys definitely look for him but what they need to get better as a group is finding him in transition
His speed for a C is one of his strengths and he usually gets down the court before his man and gets a mismatch sealing a smaller defender in the paint. He hardly ever gets that pass so maybe something that develops over time

I'm glad all the preseason management seems to be working as planned ✌🏾👍🏾

Yeah, I'm hoping his usage improves in time. Also, it will be interesting to see if he plays our next back to back. He's been extremely solid so far and health hasn't been an issue. I sure hope it continues to be this way.

Teams are definitely more aware to play the lob with him in transition and in PnR. We don't seem to be running many post ups or have him flashing to the block. I saw one time last night where he did post and put his hand up but we moved the ball opposite. As long as he's not complaining about touches or feeling underutilized we're in a good spot. He seems like a guy who's happy to be winning games.

What spending three years in Charlotte will do to a guy.

I think so too but I do get the impression that he would appreciate a few more touches. I mean it's basic human nature but I agree he's not the complaining type and I think he's very happy to be winning. The whole team seems to have great chemistry like we haven't seen since the last Finals team starting in the bubble. And Ott seems like the perfect coach for this group as well. I love his demeanor about always wanting to improve and he's definitely not "happy on the farm."

Just to see this team not let down against the injured Pelicans squad was very refreshing. I mean, it even got chippy near the end as we wouldn't let off deep into the 4th quarter.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.
