Sad news. All time underrated Sun and fan fave. 6MOY his first season in Phoenix. Probably 20 years ahead of his time, too. He'd be a $100m+ player today.

Very sad. He was only 54. RIP.

If I remember correctly, wasn’t he in an accident and paralyzed? Very sad

Remember how we were all worried about our swapped to hell 2026 1st(that we traded to Charlotte)? The wizards, Magic, and Grizzlies all had swap rights on it and currently none of them would swap for it as the suns have the best record of the 4 haha

In 2008 he had an accident while riding on an ATV that left him paralyzed from the neck down. Very sad.

Rogers signed with the Suns as a free agent in 1999 and was the NBA 6th Man of the Year in 1999-00.

At Wake Forest he was the ACC Rookie of the year as a freshman and the ACC Conference Player of the Year in 1992-93, both times over Grant Hill.

He was a little bit of a "tweener" as a forward in the NBA, but he was a good scorer from both inside and outside. He was eventually traded by the Suns to Boston in the deal for Joe Johnson.

RIP Rodney.

Didn't see him say anything to the refs but I remember Book yelling "that's fkin terrible!" after his 6th foul which got him the tech. The thing about Brooks is that he knows what he's doing with his play, he has a strategy. He's not out there as some uncontrollable liability for us fighting with people and getting techs or ejections. I think he said last week after a game he could tell the team didn't have any energy so he got into with an opposing player early just to get the team's energy up. That stuff sets the tone for the team.

Mentioned in the Wolves thread that it felt like the bench was outplaying the starters lately.

Interesting. I'm most surprised by the bench's defensive rating. Thought it would be better than the starters.

I was also surprised by the defensive rating but I think that may be due to Richards and Oso in the middle vs Williams. I think Gillespie, Goodwin and Dunn are good enough defensively on the perimeter.
