I've been watching the game but wasn't posting yet. Up by 12 here in the 4th quarter. Looks like a win.

Worst thing about this game is that it'll convince Hornacek to play Thornton more. He's having a good game, but he shouldn't get any minutes; ugh.

I don't think we need to be so quick on the trigger and fire Hornacek. But if I were McD or whomever, I'd talk to him after this season and try to figure out ways we can instill more of a culture of personal responsibility and character in this team next season. Maybe he shows up at the start of next year's training camp and says, hey, some shit went on last year that will not be tolerated this year. No exceptions. You act like that and you won't play. I mean it. And then follow through.

What are Hornacek's strengths? Honestly. He sucks at every aspect. Nobody has improved through the course of the year, he has let everyone run all over him on and off the court, and our drawn up "plays" at the end of games and quarters have been terrible. You can say it's the players and environment, but I don't buy it. No way Pop lets a team like this get away with this shit. He'd sit the players and sign D-leaguers to play before he did this. The fact that he thinks Thornton, Green and Morris give him a better chance to win also shows how clueless he is.

I don't think we'll ever have to see Marcus Morris again, however, I know Hornacek is a stubborn little fuck and will continue to play the piece of shit.

If only we had a good passing PG to consistently take advantage of a guy who gets himself in a good position.

Marcus’ last 6 games:

3-12
1-7
2-8
9-21
2-8
3-12

TJ’s last 8 games:

8-10
5-9
4-5
2-5
1-2
4-7
5-8
4-5

How is TJ not better in every way at this point?

Unless the front office comes out and says "winning isn't as important as developing the young players" the coach is going to play the guys he thinks give the team the best chance of winning. That's just the way it is when you're the coach or players - you go out there to win the game.

Now we can argue that Warren should play over Marcus, but I don't think at this point Archie gives the team a better chance to win than Thornton. And Hornacek may just be one of those coaches that prefers going with the veterans (he gave Green a long leash).

Personally, I would throw in the towel this season and play the kids - but unless you have the stamp of approval of the front office, priority #1 is winning games.

Exactly. Len and Warren would get a lot more opportunities to score if we had a guard who could run plays and set up players for easy shots.

Marcus Morris and Marcus Thornton do not give us the best chance to win. If Hornacek thinks that, that's a problem.

They yell in his face in public, ignore his plays, continue to play hero ball and get technicals. They have no respect for him. They're clearly not winning yet he continues to play these same thugs that have lost as many games as they have won and are very obviously not coachable. He's a weak coach in every aspect of the job description.
