Game Day: Suns (24-17) @ Knicks (25-16), Sat 1/17/25

Post by Superbone »

Time: 5:30 pm AZ (4:30 pm PT/7:30 pm ET)
Place: Madison Square Garden, New York, NY
TV: AZ Family 3TV/NBALP

I am coming to you live from New York City. The Suns take on the Knicks Saturday night at the fabled Madison Square Garden. Unfortunately, the two headliners are both questionable. That's the Suns' Devin Booker and the Knicks' Jalen Brunson.

Oops! I'm already acclimated to NY time, man. Flurries of snow coming down. Can't wait to attend tonight in my Ryan Dunn Valley jersey in the Garden! If you don't hear from me for a while, I got in a scuffle with the NY faithful. ;)

Just tell 'em you know me!

Knicks have been on a skid lately, this could be a big bounce back game for them or a sign that things are really spiraling. Hopefully Book is back, he loves playing at the Garden. I imagine Brunson will be back because he's had ankle injuries before and gets back relatively quickly. They Knicks have Hart back who didn't play against us last week. He's their energizer, connector, energy guy. Gotta be physical with KAT and stay out on OG and Mikal. Deuce and Clarkson can go off, would love to see Goodwin keep making lives miserable.

Can't lose this one - Ott said Book is in a good place but will be a game time decision

Incredibly physical 4Q on both sides. Suns just gritting it out.

If KAT learned any emotional maturity he would be a legitimate superstar in this league. He still plays like a hormonal teenager. Not mad about it. Glad I don’t have to cheer for him.

This just felt like a playoffs game between two teams that not only wanted it...but knew each other already. Great, gritty win.

The Suns have so much depth at SG and SF, which is a blessing...but they have some players they really need to sign at the end of the season. Would hate to lose Grayson but his value is at an all time high right now.

Solid showing, needed to get this one. Felt like a game of runs early on, then a fist fight in the 2nd half. Thought Grayson broke his nose from a headbutt from OG, then Oso's mouth was bleeding a few minutes later after a foul from KAT. Good news is Brooklyn is next so hopefully that won't have to be such a physical battle as the last 3 games have been.

Book is the difference maker obviously. He can get his shot against anyone, reliable middy, attracts the attention of the defense to open up others. We had our guy, the Knicks didn't have theirs. Both teams similar in that sense. KAT isn't good enough every night to carry the offensive load and be the go-to guy.

CG hit some big shots in the 4th while Book was on the bench. The subs helped us break away so the starters could close it out. Oso and Dunn were both real good, Goodwin did what he's been doing and was 3-4 from 3 I think.

Brooks is in a major slump, looks a bit tired. His shots are short and worse, he's been forcing his offense. He's gotta reset and understand it's ok to pass and cut away when the shot isn't working.

Solid win. Felt like the starters kept trying to lose it and then the bench would gain it back. A good Ryan Dunn game tonight. Goody, Williams had solid games.

Brooks was just awful again. He needs a detox. He's been horrible this entire road trip so far.

Royce hit a couple 3s but he is clearly the dumbest player on the roster. The lazy inbounds pass under our own basket that led to a turnover and easy bucket. The atrocious full court pass WHY!!! That he was lucky Grayson was able to bounce it up against the backboard for Williams to grab- pure luck. Then he took a horrible 3 with 21 seconds left on the clock after stealing the ball with a minute and a half to go when we could have milked the clock. He is just a dumb player.

Allen has just been chucking 3s since he came back. They're good looks but man can we hit a few more of them maybe?
