Every other team that made tax-ducking trades had to give up draft capital so good work by the Suns to keep it players only. I think we actually got the two best players in the deal and both guys could help in a vacuum, but as others have said we have way too many similar players.

NHD seemed like a really good dude. Thoughtful guy. May have been the worst Sun since Taylor Griffin.

Ouch. Yeah, I hope NHD figures it out in the NBA. His shooting seemed to get progressively worse.

I think he'll get waived and return to Europe. There were rumors of that happening.

Coffé did cook us a few time over the last few years
Yeah, I remember he had something brewing against us. But I wouldn't say he roasted us.
Maybe more of a light roast

Desperately? Eh. Suns don't really have enough assets and I like the current chemistry. And who is that PF? Maybe somebody like Nance. Just don't know if it's worth breaking up what we've currently got.

From The Athletic:
John Hollinger
Senior Writer, NBA

Phoenix ducks the tax

Phoenix is under the tax! Now we just wait on the Nuggets to amend their inevitable move. If Milwaukee made this trade without getting any draft picks in return, that is a deeply questionable choice.

Suns will generate a $5 million trade exception for Nick Richards and a $2.1 million exception for Nigel Hayes-Davis. Don't spend it all in one place, kids.
Doug Haller
Senior Writer, Arizona

The Suns (31-20) were not expected to make a major deadline move, mostly because they had played so well, and also because they viewed guard Jalen Green, who has missed most of the season with a hamstring injury, to provide a boost once he returned. A major part of the Kevin Durant summer blockbuster deal, Green has played in five games.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

I guess he was a big college star at Wisconsin, though, so maybe he gets kept on as a fan favorite, to play nothing minutes in blowout games. Which the Bucks are going to have a lot of, if they really shut Giannis down for the rest of the season like the rumors say.

Desperately is just not accurate. We are 31-20 without said PF/C so I think we’re doing fine.

Are we at major risk of a Mark Williams injury? Definitely, but we’d get to sink or swim with Maluach and I’m actually ok with that. This season is already a success to me.

I'm at the point where I'm thinking about our chances once we're in the playoffs and I think it's pretty key we get some functional size. Rotations shrink and our guard depth won't be as big of a benefit.

My thoughts exactly. I think this team could make some noise in the postseason, but more size is needed.

Yeah, I get it. But I just don't think there is this mythical deal out there or this difference maker PF. Who are you trading? You giving up on Green? Moving our guard depth? Allen or O'Neale? It's a tricky thing messing with good chemistry.

I saw something in the past few weeks about a big Euro club (Olypiakos?) considering a big offer for him if he’s bought out of his NBA contract.

I also don’t think the Suns could’ve acquired a playable PF and got under the tax.

I like how this deal turned out.
