Around the NBA: Weeks 24 (3/30 - 4/5) and 25 (4/6 - 4-12)

Feeling good about my Hawks over Knicks pick so far

I'm glad CJ is showing out. He's been good for a long time but on some bad teams.
Still think the Knicks win the series but would love it if they didn't.

Bridges had a sad stat line for NY: 0 pts, 4 T0s in 21 minutes for +/- of -26
A fun team to watch again. A trade or two away from being a serious contender...

Mikal Bridges is washed, has been for 3 years.
Re: Around the NBA: Weeks 24 (3/30 - 4/5) and 25 (4/6 - 4-12)
Knicks fans are raging at Mikal for a pathetic showing against the Hawks tonight. I love me some Mikal but I think he's been exposed in New York and pretty clearly isn't worth what they gave up to get him.

Wolves are WAY up on Denver at the half. And the Raptors stomped Cleveland in their Game 3. Some of these first round series are getting interesting.

Come back home Mikal!!!
I'd love to have Bridges back here, but I think if the Knicks flame out, I'd make an inquiry on KAT. I think he'll be very available, and he fills our biggest position of need. Rolling out a big starting 5 of Maluach, KAT, Fleming, Brooks, and Booker would be awesome next year.

Meanwhile the Suns are 1,2,3, Cancun! As we speak.

Towns is such a strange player. And he costs so much.

Intriguing idea, I have consider him a center since his Minnesota days, so I wasn’t looking for him as an answer to any of our troubles. But as a PF he could give us the scoring punch on the front court that we sorely need, size and still keep 3pt range. Cover for him on defense with Maluach and Brooks and suddenly it’s not so bad fit at all. At least, looks a lot better than the 4 guards lineups.wpmiller42 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2026 7:55 pmCome back home Mikal!!!

Why anyone thinks Mike Brown is an NBA caliber head coach is beyond me. He's failed on so many different occasions. He's had one semi successful season in Sacto, but everyone knows that was because of Jordi. Other than that he's been horrendous to mediocre.
If the Knicks are trading any of their players and we can buy low because of their underperformance, we should, because it's clearly the coaching.

KAT has the same contract as Book. Minus the latest extension but he’ll be wanting one.
Re: Around the NBA: Weeks 24 (3/30 - 4/5) and 25 (4/6 - 4-12)
KAT is a pretty good player (20 ppg on .501/.368/.858 splits and 11.9 rpg) but he isn't a leader or a #1 guy, but he's being paid like one: currently $53m / year, signed through 2028 when it'll rise to $61m / year. I don't hate the guy but I don't think he is worth that contract.
Re: Around the NBA: Weeks 24 (3/30 - 4/5) and 25 (4/6 - 4-12)
I'm not sure there's anyone I'd want from the Knicks at this point. Brunson maybe but he's untouchable. KAT is too flaky but if the right deal came along I might pull the trigger. I think the Knicks broke Mikal and while I like Hart, I see him more as a bench guy similar to Brooks in style and effectiveness. OG is too passive and makes too much money for his production.
Brown's been a fraud for a while. Glad he's getting heat and Knicks fans are experiencing his BS after turning on Thibs.

I think the iron man streak from Bridges and all of the heavy minutes have caught up to him. Not to say he's totally washed, but he definitely is on the downside of his career. He will be 30 in a few months and with all of the mileage, probably more like 33. That extension is gonna be turrible in a few years.
Re: Around the NBA: Weeks 24 (3/30 - 4/5) and 25 (4/6 - 4-12)
I love Mikal, but not on that contract. He has 4 years left at Jalen Green money.
"Hey, Jane - get me off this crazy thing called love." - Charlie, but also Suns fans wishing we didn't have to watch more 4th quarter small ball but knowing we will tune in for the next game.
Re: Around the NBA: Weeks 24 (3/30 - 4/5) and 25 (4/6 - 4-12)
I can't believe they gave up 5 first round picks for him! He was never worth that.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Good thing they got rid of that bum, Thibs.MightyMoog wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2026 9:24 pmWhy anyone thinks Mike Brown is an NBA caliber head coach is beyond me. Mike Brown was a terrible hire, they should have gone for someone with a fresh perspective.
