We appear to be using the last weekly thread for general NBA news. Here's a thread for the postseason.

Harden always has a rough time of it in the playoffs. I wonder if it is somewhat mental at this point, knowing that he has a reputation for choking and failure.

I can't say that I care very much what Austin Rivers or Draymond Green has to say about anything. Austin is a scrub who only got in the NBA because of his father, and is most famous for a Kevin Harlan clip yelling "Here comes Austin Rivers!" where he immediately turns the ball over. Draymond is an aging veteran who was a key part of a title team, but his (and his team's) best days are in the past. Bit of an eye roll to see these guys beefing with each other.

They both come off like a bunch of 15yr olds. Dray hasn't had a good week between his stuff with Rivers and Barkley. I see the general posts about them but I just scroll past all that nonsense.

I wish the Suns would hire Morey. He's 10x better than our front office staff, even though you can point to some misfires he's made. But I think Ishbia mostly has "his guys" in place (mostly guys he's previously worked with and/or have Michigan ties) and won't mess with them.

You wanna hire a guy who is only good at tanking to a team that has no intention of doing so?

I feel like our front office has actually done surprisingly well. Keep in mind they’ve only been in place 1 year, but they managed to turn maybe the least enjoyable suns team of all time into a decent team that was actually enjoyable.

I think the Mark Williams trade looks like a mistake, but the KD trade was a big win. Gillespie and Goodwin on vet min deals were steals. Maluach and Fleming feel like promising picks…

I’m not really sure what Morey has done good lately. I guess he nailed the VJ Edgecombe pick, but everyone would have taken VJ at 3. He gave PG a bad contract, he botched the Ben Simmons situation and the Harden Situation. He gave Jared McCain away to the Thunder…I’m good on Morey.

Are you maybe confusing Daryl Morey with Sam Hinkie? Morey's an analytics guy that built very good winning teams in Houston, but hasn't had as much luck in Philly. Hinkie was "The Process" guy, and hasn't been employed by any basketball team since 2016.

Weird take after our recent drafting success.

We had a successful season, to be sure. But we also made several mistakes, like wasting two 1sts on a year of Mark Williams, trading another future 1st to get rid of Jusuf Nurkic, another 1st to get three 2nds, to say nothing of the disastrous mismanagement that brought us KD and Beal. One pretty good offseason doesn't stop me from wanting to go after one of the league's best GMs, especially one of the league's best rebuilding GMs. I think Morey could help us rebuild our team and roster in just a few years and wouldn't give away our 1st round picks nearly so cavalierly. I also think he would be unafraid to pursue Green or even Booker trades if that was best for the team.

Only the Williams trade was our current FO. James Jones did all the other stuff…and I’m sure you are just trying to make a point, but it was a future 1st for 3 1sts.

I want no part of Morey and would be surprised if he got another GM type of gig in the NBA.
