Suns sign Pat Spencer to a two-way contract

Post by Superbone »

You may not know this, but he’s considered the greatest college lacrosse player of all time. The “Michael Jordan” of lacrosse.

Fun fact: he was born on July 4, 1996.

Good addition as a two-way player in the event that they find themselves short-handed at PG.

He won the lacrosse award similar to the Heisman, and if he's better at lacrosse than Jim Brown was ay Syracuse, he must have been good!

I think it's a solid 2 way, he plays hard with the funk the Suns like and he can shoot it pretty well.

Hmm. This is the guy people made fun of last season when he'd get in the game for Golden State. "Why is my high school math teacher checking in for an NBA game?" etc. Big time dad/unc energy. Not sure that he quite has NBA talent, so I don't think I would have brought him in. But a two-way isn't very harmful.

Apparently, you never watched him play. He's quite solid...no matter what he looks like.

I think he fils that two way slot of more of semi vet they can plug in if needed eg what livers was this year.

Curious about the other two way spots
Does extending the Qualifying offer to Brea mean we can still keep him on a two way? He had an up and down last year but we need shooting and we used a bunch of picks to get him so I can’t see him being let go.

I was a fan of Huntleys gradual improvement last year and he think really deserves another two way. He is 24 though and maybe they think that is too old to have much more upside.

Pat Spencer should (and maybe eventually will) have Bouyea's roster spot.

I love this pickup. Curious (should probably just check ChatGPT but I’m lazy) what the 2-way rules are. Was it 3 years eligibility?

I was coming to say that I remember the game we lost to Spencer last year…curry was out and Spencer killed us…this was the game I thought golden state was going to set the 3 point record…was basically all they were shooting in the first half

Remember when we'd joke about James Jones drafting players similar to himself?

How a bout Mat Ishbia signing them?

Collin Gillespie
Sam Hoiberg
Pat Spencer

He has a type.

What do you have against Bouyea?

When I saw the headline of this move, I hoped for a second that it was the other brother but I quickly realized it wasn't. I thought they were closer in age.

Bouyea was never the same after his concussion. Let's hope he can get back to that player.

Nothing against him. I just think Spencer is more aligned.

Admittingly, I also didn't know he's already 30.
