I keep forgetting that Ryan Dunn in on the roster. I assume that he's out of the rotation, but that's kind of a big assumption for a guy who played 19 mpg and 70+ games since he entered the league.

I have a hard time seeing how Dunn gets minutes if we are healthy:

Booker/Gillespie/Bouyea
Green/Kennard/Highsmith
Brooks/Goodwin/Dunn
Bridges/Fleming/Peat
Williams/Oso/Maluach

That’s kinda how I see the rotation. Those guys on the 3rd line will have a tough path to minutes. Though I think we should be able to play 3 centers.

Yeah, I mostly agree. Maybe Spencer is in front of Bouyea, but it really doesn't matter when Booker and Green are both healthy. Maybe Peat and Maluach work their way into the 2nd unit.

We have a lot of decent bench players, and I'd like to see us trade Dunn rather than bench him. Just grab a couple of future 2nd round picks while he has some value. Surely someone wants an athletic wing defender.

I almost want to make the same argument for Oso, but I think we still need his IQ.

Ya I didn’t include the 2-ways, but Spencer could be ahead of Bouyea.

I kinda feel like we won’t do anything before the season, but packaging Dunn with Green and/or Williams seems like a decent avenue to add talent. I think Maluach will be ready this year for more minutes and Williams will become less needed. Green of course isn’t a great fit.

I think you're mostly right about that depth chart. But I look at it and I can't help but think I would like this team more if every single starter except Booker were off the team. I think I would rather watch a team with the following depth chart:

PG: Gillespie/Booyeah
SG: Book/Kennard
SF: Dunn/Goodwin
PF: Fleming/Peat
C: Maluach/Oso

Isn't that a much more fun, young, exciting, developing team? With some of our draft picks back in hand, such as the 2033 one, of course. We wouldn't likely make the playoffs, but who cares? We aren't and won't be a contender either way.

I wish we could just build our team the normal way by developing young guys and picks, and not put mediocre or overpaid veterans in front of them.
