It's pretty much this, they acquired him for basketball reasons and felt good enough about his off court stuff to do so. Doesn't make him any less a piece of shit, it's just a basketball move.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2026 12:01 pmWhat exactly do you think asking them tough questions will accomplish? Will their answers somehow make it okay that they acquired Bridges, if you thought it wasn't okay before? Will they be able to give you some reason, some explanation, that makes you think everything is fine now? I don't like the trade, but it's a free country, and they can acquire him if they want. I don't think they can really spin it in a way that makes me happy with it. I don't really care what they have to say about their rationale for acquiring him. It is what it is.

I just want them to have to answer for it. I don’t think it’s a good precedent to let the FO/Ownership realize they can do whatever they want without someone saying anything.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2026 12:01 pmWhat exactly do you think asking them tough questions will accomplish? To be honest, I’m more interested to hear what Miles has to say. I want to like the players I am rooting for on the team. It would be nice to hear Miles take ownership for what he did, express remorse, and give some indication that he’s a different person. I’m going to root for the team(and miles) regardless, but I’ll feel better about it if I know Miles isn’t a total scum bag.

That's a very good point. And coming from somebody that is vehemently against the trade. Nothing is going to change Bridges past behavior. We can only hope he becomes a model citizen and parent from this point forward. A changed man who learned from his mistakes...Mori Chu wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2026 12:01 pmWhat exactly do you think asking them tough questions will accomplish? While taking the Suns to the next level and being a monster on the court.

Can’t help but notice the irony of wanting him to be a monster on the floor. It’s basically a Neal Brennan joke (Ray Rice) but we want him to be a bruising, physical presence on the court and then remember to turn it off at the buzzer sounding.
Let’s hope he cleans up his act. But maybe we don’t lock in additional years until he proves some stability on the human side.

I don't see a problem with someone addressing it. Either a question posed by the media or them proactively addressing it during the press conference. Either ownership or the player. Otherwise it's the obvious elephant in the room and will feel like the press and ownership intentionally avoiding it. It happened, he's on the team, I've moved forward and am prepared to cheer for the team this year but would be disappointed if it's completely skated around.

Agreed. I'd hate for us to lock up additional years without him putting in some games this season to see how he fits and how he performs.3TheHardaway wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2026 1:43 pmCan’t help but notice the irony of wanting him to be a monster on the floor. Yeah, turn it off at the buzzer and don't strike and strangle women. Like everybody else. I don't think that's too much to ask. Unless you think all the aggressive on court NBA players are women beaters off the court.3TheHardaway wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2026 1:43 pmCan’t help but notice the irony of wanting him to be a monster on the floor. I really can't see that happening. Like somebody else said, at least the seasoned reporters like Rankin are going to say something. It's not, and no, I don't believe that to be true. Most figure out how not to "do football when they were supposed to be doing elevator." Here's to Miles growing and cleaning up. But if he gets into more shit and Ishbia/Gregory extend him, that'd be a nearly impossible pill to swallow as fan.Superbone wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2026 2:21 pmYeah, turn it off at the buzzer and don't strike and strangle women. He "got into more shit" literally less than a week ago. His ex filed a new charge accusing him of trying to run her over with his golf cart. This was 6 days ago. Not 2022 or 2023. Last week.
Now, I wasn't there. I don't know if he did that. Maybe the ex is lying or evil. But to say that Miles Bridges has put all of this past stuff far behind him would be untrue. It's still here, still a part of his life.
https://arizonasports.com/nba/phoenix-s ... each-otherJohnson later filed her own complaints against Bridges, stating he filed charges against her in an effort to take away her custody and that Bridges attempted to run her over in a golf cart during the custody exchange.

Re: Suns trade Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale for Miles Bridges
I think it is perfectly reasonable for the Suns FO to be asked how they reconcile previous statements about valuing high character players against Bridges’ well documented off court issues. I would be interested in the answer even though it won’t change anything.
Re: Suns trade Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale for Miles Bridges
It takes two to tango. I'm not going to take these cross accusations seriously unless we have some proof. It will always be part of his life as they have children together. You'd hope the two of them would do what is best for their children but that doesn't seem to be the case.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2026 3:29 pmHe "got into more shit" literally less than a week ago. If Bridges knew what was good for him, he'd hire somebody to make the custody exchanges. Just avoid seeing her in person all together.
