I think the Warriors will put away the Blazers, even without Curry, in 5-6 games tops. They're just too talented, well-coached, and confident.

Well. We certainly have the emergence of team basketball in the NBA. The Spurs haven't had a lottery pick since Tim Duncan, who is now a secondary piece in this team. But they have multi talented players who play smart team ball. And I still hate Pop.

The trade that got them Kawhi Leonard for George Hill was an absolute heist. Franchise-changing trade.

Klay has hit 21 3's over a 3-game stretch. The guy on SportsCenter said it was a record for a 3 game stretch but I just had to look at Curry's game log to see that just this season over a 3 game stretch he hit 28 from 2/24-2/27. Maybe he meant the playoffs.

Edit: And another one of 22 from 1/14-1/18. Another of 22 from 12/2-12/6.

Nuggets again with Kiki and English. I guess LeBron and Wade. When in history has this been a success? One of them not being a big man makes things way harder. I suppose they won't, but I wonder if OKC wouldn't be better off trading Westbrook for a beta sidekick to Durant and real depth. Chicago could offer Butler and pieces, Boston with IT4+, maybe Griffin in a megatrade with Paul as well. Cousins alongside KD would be scary...
Klay Thompson and Steph Curry?
LeBron and Wade?

Also, they may not have the most creative offense designed around them, but neither Durant nor Westbrook are selfish players. It's silly to label them "ball-hog chuckers."

Jordan and Pippen were sorta good, and their teams had a tendency to do well in the playoffs...

I agree with you but here in Indy it's funny. Most die-hards will tell you that they are happy with George Hill. I don't really get it. He's OK. But he's not a leader and tends to disappear a lot in games that matter. He's a 2nd option when he's at his best and a 4th option when he's not being assertive.

I don't blame Indy for that trade. Kahwi wasn't a 100% sure thing, and Hill was an impressive young PG with a steady hand who had been trained in the Pop/Spurs system. They got good known value for an asset of uncertain value, at a time when they really wanted a veteran guard presence.

But, in retrospect, oops.

I don't think Leonard becomes who he is today while playing in Indy.

BTW, the finish of Spurs/OKC Game 2 was crazy. Thought for sure the Spurs were going to find some way to get a basket and win by 1.

I for one loved the elbowing of Ginobili no call.

Do you think years of flopping & his reputation played into the no call? Or that he stepped on the line?

I don't know why the Spurs and their fans are whining about that last play. Even if Waiters elbowed Ginobili, the Spurs got the ball and had a, what, 3-on-1 fastbreak? And they had a couple decent looks and shots and they couldn't convert. They also could have called a timeout if they'd wanted to. They got their chance, but it just didn't work out. Fair ending. Hats off to the Thunder.

I don't even think he really elbowed him. Looked like more of a push off in his chest and Manu flopped a bit. But yea, they had their chances on the fastbreak.

You couldn't have given them a better break, and they couldn't convert, at home. Strange.

If you look carefully at the replay, Ginobili steps over the inbounds line, an infraction that within the final two minutes I believe merits a technical.

So it was a good non-call by the ref.

If you also look at the same clip, Leonard is shoving his man partially out of bounds and then holding his jersey as he comes back in. That could be a foul there.

There were a good 6 or 7 violations by both teams on that last play. I hate the way games are officiated. I certainly don't want to see 7 infractions called on that play, but I want the players to know that if you break the rules, you are going to get called. Instead , they know that at the end of the game, you have to murder someone to get called out. So they are trying not to murder someone, instead of playing their best.
