5/138 which is insane for a SG that can't shoot 3-pointers in today's NBA (under 34% in less than 2 attempts per game.)Sunsfan4life wrote:Demar Derozen just got a Max contract starting at Infinity from Toronto. Always thought Derozen was overrated and although I understand the Raps have a hard time keeping guys in Toronto, it's hard to fathom Derozen right now being the 2nd highest paid player in the NBA.

Lin's deal with the Nets is 3/36 which, like Clarkson, seems like a bargain with the other contracts being handed out.

Agreed on Derozen. It's not like he blew up in the post-season either. Derozen is king of the contested long two pointer.
Clarkson needs to fire his agent. He could of maxed out at 4/61 under the Gilbert Arenas rule. How he didn't, with 30yr old Mozgov getting 16mil per from the same team, is pretty hard to imagine.
Lin's deal is ok, although I think he's more a backup then starter.

Batum 5/120 from Charlotte.
Lin is about to sign with Brooklyn.
LeBatard is reporting that the Heat are considering dealing Dragic in order to sign Durant since Whiteside is signed and Wade is owed a big payday.
Haha. I like Goran but man would that be ironic. Kept calling the Suns FA liars...wonder what that would make Miami if they just signed him to a long term deal only to deal him the next yr. I doubt it happens, because I highly doubt Durant goes there.

Ish Smith to the Pistons for 3yrs. Good for Ish.

If the Heat can move Dragic, we should be able to move Knight. Love Lin to BK.

What are the Kings and Sixers doing at Point? Those are the two to watch for BK or Bledsoe.

The Nets are kind of screwed, they have no one under contract really. Brook Lopez, the other Bogdanovic, RHJ, and now Lin. They still have $40M of cap room after signing Lin and no one wants to go there.

They have Whitehead and Levert too. Should see plenty of minutes.

Knight is now making appropriate back up money. I am not so sure I want to deal him. He can come off the bench. Now that Bogdan is not in the picture, might as well keep him.
McD says that Suns fans have not yet seen the real Knight. I am willing to give it a chance and see him healthy. He played a lot of the last season with a hernia. Anyway, just a thought.

DeRozan is great at drawing fouls, and he sets the tone for the whole team. He was third in the league at free throw attempts, and he shot a higher fg% than Harden. I agree that he didn't have great shot selection, especially in the post season. I agree that he isn't one of the transcendent players of this generation. But he is a perennial all-star, and Toronto isn't getting a better player than him.Sunsfan4life wrote:Agreed on Derozen. It's not like he blew up in the post-season either. He is to them what KJ was to us.

It's easy for us to sit here and write about Knight just coming off the bench. He also has to, ya know, be OK with and buy into playing off the bench.

I like that deal for Indy, low risk. They are obviously trying to win now with their draft day deals. I like what their doing this off-season although I'd try to shed Monta Ellis if I were them.

Yea, he and Turner should also complement each other well. So Teague, George, Thad, AlJeff and Turner are a lineup they could throw out there. Not bad. Or Teague, Monta, PG, Thad, AlJeff?

I would think Big Al is going to backup Turner.ShelC wrote:Yea, he and Turner should also complement each other well. So Teague, George, Thad, AlJeff and Turner are a lineup they could throw out there. Not bad. Or Teague, Monta, PG, Thad, AlJeff?

Whiteside deal not set in stone. Wiggle room still there for KD signing. I still don't see the math working for them unless Wade wants to play for $10M dollars.
