I predict he will be somewhere between wasted pick and first ballot hall of famer.

Haha, you hit that target with a nuclear missile, pretty sure you're going to be correct with that prediction.

I feel like that is only a slightly exaggerated take of half the posts recently.

I worry about Chriss' fit on this team. It seems like his one great NBA-ready skill is throwing down alley oops, but Bledsoe and Knight don't throw them very often or very well.

Yea, that's why I'd consider a guy like Rubio, despite his lack of offense.

Exactly. It amazes me sometimes how much team fit can make or break a career, or at the very least, greatly prolong the acclimation process to the league. We need a pass-first PG, or someone that acts as the distributor from another position, on this team very badly.

We didnt have anyone that could reliably finish them either... Bledsoe had no problem throwin oops to Blake and DJ...

Isn't that why we drafted Skinny Bogues? Or was that just to accommodate the new Face of the Franchise?

I don't think we drafted Ullis so we can ship out Bledsoe and Knight and let him run the offense.

In 2 years. I love Ulis, but he needs to add another 15-20lbs of muscle.

Waiting two years before we get a player that can run the offense and put Booker*, Warren, Bender and Chriss (not to mention Len) in a position to succeed is way too long. You don't waste half of your rookie contracts of lotto picks waiting for a distributor.

*I think we regularly gloss over how difficult it was for Booker to do well in the 2nd half of the season when we asked him to do too much.

In a way, that's kind of what the Suns did before they convinced Nash to join on, with JJ, Marion, and Amare. Along with a too young Barbosa. Lots of great athletes and players that couldn't carry the team themselves yet.

I'm wishing on a star, and I keep saying this, but I really want to see the Suns draft Lonzo Ball out of UCLA this next year. He might be the player that makes everyone better next year and helps them to be a dominate team for years on end. 6'6" pg, that reminds you of Jason Kidd with strength, passing, rebounding, and defense, but is fearless shooting like Curry at times. Just has a funky shot, or more so where he starts his shot from.

2.- Trade with Sacramento. Decent, but I think we overpaid by one asset. Not the worst in the world considerin the pick inflation is at its highest at draft night.

3.- Drafted Chriss. Almost as hard to say, although there are major red flags. If he turns into the next Warrick that would suck. Would have drafted other prospect. Valentine. Sabas.

4.- Drafted Ulis. I like it. Maybe Ben Bentil or Stone but god knows we can use a real floor general and willing passer.

5.- Signed Ulis to a late first round contract. Smart and savvy.

6.- Signed Dudley. More than the player himself it is the kind of move pursued. Not in the hunt for a big FA, but know-how and leadership. I don't repudiate Duds and I don't see nostalgia as a peril so I can afford myself to like the signing.
I've heard a lot of people compare Chriss to Warrick, and some of the measurables are similar, so I can see it. The differences are that Chriss is taller without shoes than Warrick is with them, along with being about 20 lbs heavier. They have about the same vertical, but Warrick has a longer wingspan and higher standing reach. I'm pretty sure that Chriss is a better shooter with better chance to improve as he has better mechanics on his shot. He has a higher upside as a PF than Warrick had, and Warrick seems to be his floor. Hopefully Chriss comes out closer to his ceiling than his floor.
He's somewhere between warrick and Amare on the hyper athletic power forward spectrum.
That's like the Grand Canyon hahaha.
That was my point, I don't think we know what he's going to be. He's risky, but the reward could be great.

I think Watson could surprise many. He has entered the job as a sheep but the way he speaks smells like wolf. And I could see it being the case given the lengthy career he has had.

Lonzo is very intriguing, maybe Shaun Livingston with 3 point range? I also really like Frank Ntilikina, French pg who might be a 6'5 rondo with a better jump shot? And Markelle Fultz, who might be Brandon Roy? Just an absolutely loaded pg class. However, let's see how they play this year, my opinion is solely based on ballislife mixtapes and "expert" opinions.

I HOPE that Chriss is going to closer to Amare, and he does some things that make you see the similarities, like being a former football player and mentality there, having freaky athleticism, hearing that he nearly broke the rim, how he catches everything and can finish off passes that are out of the normal oop zone. Apparently, his jumper is much further along than Amare's was at the same age, but it doesn't seem to me that he has the same unshakable confidence/cockiness and desire that Amare had. For as much as we were frustrated with Amare's rebounding, there were times when he was dominate at it and he wanted to posterize everyone. I hope we see the same type of fearlessness and hunger out of Chriss.

Don't forget Dennis Smith, who they compare to John Wall, or De'Aaron Fox from Kentucky who's also another big pg.

It's probably not the best idea to compare him to Amare, because we'll end up being disappointed. I'm more guilty than anyone for throwing around the comparison, but you're right, he hasn't showed the same ferocity as Amare did. What made Amare so great was his confidence and the ferocity with which he attacked the rim. Remember the three he banked in against the Spurs in the playoffs his rookie year? It was right before marbury hit the game winner. He was fearless and welcomed big moments.
