Me too, I'm surprised the Ws didn't want him back. I'm guessing he is taking Price's role. HIs percentages weren't too bad last year in 16 min a game 46/36.Indy wrote: Just came here to post. I'm very surprised by this.

I think he was great for them last year, for what he was asked to do. I think he could teach some guys on our team how to move without the ball.
Re: Suns News: The Offseason (2016)
I have no problem with the player, but with Bledsoe/Ulis/Knight/Booker/Goodwin all in the backcourt?!
Re: Suns News: The Offseason (2016)
Price's role was injury insurance. Is Barbosa OK with that role? If Ulis is ready to play, that will make Barbosa the 5th guard in the rotation.carey wrote:I'm guessing he is taking Price's role.

I really hope this means that all those guys won't be on this team come October. Especially knight. And maybe we can get something for Archie.
Re: Suns News: The Offseason (2016)
goodwin is a goner. ulis just a spare tire just in case bledsoe or knight injured.INFORMER wrote:I have no problem with the player, but with Bledsoe/Ulis/Knight/Booker/Goodwin all in the backcourt?!

I agree. Not sure I agree, but I don't think he has too many fans upstairs.SDC wrote:goodwin is a goner.INFORMER wrote:I have no problem with the player, but with Bledsoe/Ulis/Knight/Booker/Goodwin all in the backcourt?!

It has to be a work ethic thing. They are probably pretty unhappy he still hasn't learned how to shoot the damn ball.Shabazz wrote:I agree. Re: Suns News: The Offseason (2016)
Considering Archie Goodwin looks identical from a basketball IQ level from the first summer league he participated in to the player we saw at times last season, I could care less if we offload him. Watson is supposed to be a coach that's easy for young guys to relate to and play for and develop. If he sees Archie as a lost cause, I'm not going to argue or feel upset.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton
Re: Suns News: The Offseason (2016)
I completely disagree that he looks like the same person as his first year in the league. I think he's grown quite a bit since then. Not as much as I would have hoped, but I think a lot of that might be how we developed him.
Re: Suns News: The Offseason (2016)
I wouldn't say it's the Suns' fault that Archie still can't shoot worth a darn.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

With Barbosa coming back, I see Archie as the odd man out. But I would take a flyer on him if I were another franchise. I think he can be a very good player in this league. I'll hate to see him succeed elsewhere, but that's how it has to go.
I wonder if we can get a protected first for him. Don't know what else makes sense, frankly. Maybe a young center.
Re: Suns News: The Offseason (2016)
2nd round pick or two at best. Archie is a late first round pick who hasn't been able to get consistent time in the lineup, so he isn't really worth much.

I think Archie's value may be maximized by packaging him with something not just trading him straight up. Might be a nice sweetener in a deal. His stand alone value can't be that high although he is still really young.
