I don't understand why Chicago did this. Anyone know? Wade had a great playoffs but just an o.k. regular season and the year before he was meh. He's going to be 35 shortly. I guess they move Jimmy back to his natural SF position. They don't have a whole lot else though.

So their starting 5 is.. Rondo, Wade, Jimmy, Taj, Robin Lopez? With a bench of Grant, Valentine, Portis, Mirotic, and Dougie McBuckets?

I wonder what Goran is thinking? Does Miami match Bumpy Johnson's offer now?

GS having a superteam isn't a problem; the problem is them having the only superteam. Imagine if Wade went to the Cavs and they met in the Finals again — that would be fun, wouldn't it?
it wont be fun for kyrie. i bet he secretly hopes wade never comes.

It looks like Chicago will be playing small next year. Either Taj Gibson, Mirotic, or Bobby Portis could start at PF.

With that lack of perimeter shooting I think you almost have to start Mirotic.

Is it just me are many team simply treading water? Players are moving team left and right but is anyone really getting better? I know some teams like the Knicks have reloaded but they are seem to be maxed out as a 2nd round playoff team at best

Those picks are increasing in value though. If bosh is done, their core is Dragic/Winslow/Whiteside, not a playoff team in my opinion.

Yea, but its still a very nice destination and Riley is likely to try and lure someone there either by trade or FA sooner rather then later. He's kinda up shits creek for this year.

As a Suns fan, I am incredibly happy that Wade is out. I don't know much about Winslow but Dragic and Whiteside are mismatched. We know that Dragic is by far the most effective when playing a 4-out offense, when he's allowed to do the dragon shake in the lane and either pull a Ginobili or pass to whatever open shooter that is left by the double-teamer. He just does not do well when there's a traditional low-post center clogging up the lane. It's all good for us, because they can't afford not to play Whiteside and Dragic together.

yeah, dragic had his best season playing with miles plumlee, a guy who has no range outside 5 feet.

as for wade, does he fit with rondo and butler in the backcourt? butler and rose never got their roles straightened out during last season.

I love seeing Wade go to Chicago. I hope they put together one or two more good runs.

And it frees up Miami to start rebuilding now. I think Riley and company run one of the best franchises in the East, so I expect them to draft well the next year or two, then start building.

Goran and Winslow for Westbrook?

Never count out Riles. He's already working on something.

I imagine the Wade fiasco won't reflect well on them as an organization. Who knows what happens.

Pistons gave Boban $21M/3 years. The contract is not bad, but SVG gave a very similar deal to Aaron Baynes last summer and he's a big with a very similar skillset. Not sure what the thinking is there.

Spurs turned around and signed Dewayne Dedmon for $6M/2 years, which is a steal.

I like Boban too. If we didn't already have two centers who need all the minutes, I'd want him for us. Especially at 7M per, which is peanuts by today's standards.

I've liked Dedmon for some time now. Good move. Agreed on Det. Stan is spending a lot.
