Re: Around the League: The Offseason
I am really surprised how much people are saying that CP3 to Rockets is a very real possibility. Just seems like a strange move

Re: Around the League: The Offseason
I dont see how subtracting your best rebounder and 2nd best passer and adding Paul "I think I'm a star, but I haven't done anything" George makes the Cavs better. Whatever though, let LeBron finish off killing that team so he has his excuse to wander off to LA or wherever he goes next.

Hopefully they'd get at least Harris or Murray. For their sake.

Is this accurate ?carey wrote:https://twitter.com/ESPNSteinLine/status/879119326812356608
Hasn't the problem been that Pacers not getting back much value in the proposed deals so if Love going to Denver I'm curious to hear what Pacers would be getting.

Re: Around the League: The Offseason
I don't think there's any real possibility of Paul to the Rockets. He'll probably make the rounds and flirt a bit with some teams; IINM, Paul's never been a free agent has he? He's always signed extensions? He and Harden wouldn't make a great fit, tho it'd be interesting to see.

Re: Around the League: The Offseason
Because they don't have a rebounding issue, Thompson is great and LeBron and George are both above average. Also, George is just as good a passer as Love. George is a much better defensive player, which happens to be the Cavs biggest weakness. He's also a better shooter. A Kyrie, ??, George, LeBron, Thomson lineup is pretty good and definitely matches up better with GS.TheOriginalOriginal wrote:I dont see how subtracting your best rebounder and 2nd best passer and adding Paul "I think I'm a star, but I haven't done anything" George makes the Cavs better. Re: Around the League: The Offseason
The new rumor is a three team deal between the Pacers, Cavs and Nuggets. Love goes to Denver, PG and Faried to the Cavs. I still think KLove wasn't used right and George will just give them more of the same.
Re: Around the League: The Offseason
They had a rebounding issue in the finals. Thompson was a non factor. George doesn't help them nearly as much as people think he will imo. George is not as good a passer as Love, especially when starting a break. I never understood the George infatuation myself. Hes not this difference making superstar to me, I think swapping out love for him is lateral.Split T wrote:Because they don't have a rebounding issue, Thompson is great and LeBron and George are both above average. Re: Around the League: The Offseason
He's a playmaker. They didn't have enough of those. Lebron had to create everything, save for Kyries little spurts. It would be great for them.

How much more valuable can you get than a guy who can defend Curry, Thompson, Durant, and Green and on offense shoots 40% from 3, 90% from the line, can create his own shot and do a little play making for others?
If he's your best player, you might not be going anywhere except a first round exit, but if he's your 2nd or 3rd best? You're sitting very good. I think PG would be lethal in Cleveland and make the finals much more interesting next year.
Re: Around the League: The Offseason
He doesn't need to be a superstar with LeBron on the team. He just needs to be a weapon. He's a versatile defender that can cover all the warriors stars and he's a very efficient offensive player that will only be more efficient playing with LeBron and Kyrie. He's one of the few legit two way wings in the league.TheOriginalOriginal wrote:They had a rebounding issue in the finals. Thompson was a non factor. Re: Around the League: The Offseason
I'm glad this rumour got put to bed quickly because I saw it as the biggest joke I read this weekend. The original report didn't mention who Pacers will get and this report still excludes that part which is like the biggest factor in the deal smh lolShelC wrote:The new rumor is a three team deal between the Pacers, Cavs and Nuggets. I really like this commercial. It kind of nailed message board/debate culture perfectly.

Re: Around the League: The Offseason
Btw, instead of trading for PG13 with the main purpose of putting him on KD (which won't matter because PG13 is not going to actually give up himself to just defend), the Cavs should go after Tony Allen in free agency.
PG13 is indeed a playmaker, but is LAL bound and I wouldn't risk real assets on him if I were Cleveland. Not even if I had the player's word, because honestly I wouldn't trust him.

Re: Around the League: The Offseason
Tony Allen and PJ Tucker, go get them both, get rid of Frye, Shump, JR. Call Bogut up again and hope he doesnt sneeze his way out of the lineup within 10 minutes. You can get defense without trading for PG.Ring_Wanted wrote:Btw, instead of trading for PG13 with the main purpose of putting him on KD (which won't matter because PG13 is not going to actually give up himself to just defend), the Cavs should go after Tony Allen in free agency.

Re: Around the League: The Offseason
The problem these days is that your defensive specialist can NOT be an offensive liability. Even if you're Tony Allen. You have got to be able to hit that corner 3 at a +40% clip.

Love the commercial but I'm laughing because I clicked on it eagerly waiting to see what kind of emotion Kawhi shows and the fact he's not actually in it is so funny to mecarey wrote:https://twitter.com/NBA_Skits/status/879027550118400000 I really like this commercial. Re: Around the League: The Offseason
Man you guys are talking about PJ Tucker in the same sentence as Paul George. You've absolutely lost your minds.
