That's deal where you are left wondering exactly what the team is trying to accomplish? Who saw that Raptors/Cavs series and thought to themselves, "Man, you gotta keep this team together,"?

Lowry's decision-making is atrocious. I honestly like that team better when Corey Joseph is on the floor. Minnesota got a much better value with Jeff Teague, and I am no fan of Teague either.

And speaking of Minnesota, they are loading that team up with suspect shooters. Teague, Wiggins, and Butler are all completely unreliable from 3. This is why you don't let coaches construct teams (I'm looking at you, Doc Rivers).

NOP are terrified of letting any talent go now that they have Cousins and Davis. They desperately need better shooting and better guard/swing play in general. I have never really been a fan of Holiday; solid player but no way is he worth that contract. That is even worse than the contract Memphis gave Mike Conley last year.

The Jrue contract is ridiculous. Lowry's I can live with. The Raps really don't have a lot of options and I don't think you can not re-sign Lowry. Ibaka doesn't do it for me so I'd be more concerned with that deal. I don't know how you improve that team tho.

Interesting. I'm the exact opposite. I can live with Ibaka's deal.

Pels we're stuck with Jrue. If they let him go, they only had $13M with which to replace him.

Don't you take that chance, though? Seems crazy to hamper yourself when you are trying to sell AD and Cousins on your team.

That's enough for all of the regular posters on this site combined to retire.
I don't think that is even close, even if there are only 2 regular posters here.

[rant]Take out his agent's cut, and then taxes, and he is probably only taking home 9-10 million. If you want to live off the interest only, that is about right for a person to retire and still live a nice life but not dip into the principle. But not several (or even 2) people.[/rant]

You can probably tell that I spend too much time looking at my stock portfolios and company retirement info too often...
You don't think a lump sum of 9-10 million is enough for two individuals to retire from???? Ever heard of stock dividends?
Two people, sure. If I had 9 million right now, I could retire and support my family for the rest of my life (barring horrific injury that costs millions to fix/support). But I just don't think 9-10 is enough for 2 families to retire (unless they are already +60). I think inflation and health care will continue to rise and the 100k you spend today will cost you 150 - 200k in 25 years.

I think they'd be a lot more hampered had they let him go without a clear replacement. Best way to impress AD and DC is showing a willingness to spend.

The McLemore deal could have impact on Len's market value.

I could see the Hawks throwing an offer sheet at Len.

Glad we aren't the team paying 35 year old Paul Millsap $30M a few years from now.

That exact strategy has failed time and time again. The Cavs did it the first go around with LeBron. The Wolves did it when they had Garnett. The best way to impress your superstar(s) is to put together a good team, and that involves good talent evaluation and smart financial decisions.

That is a great move for Memphis. One of the best moves I've seen this offseason.

I think he could be a really good pickup for some team (not the Suns). It will also be interesting to see where The Real Bogdanovic lands.

True, but it's not a bad play for Denver, IMO. The money sucks, but I think he works with the construct of their roster. And I think Denver is just trying to get over the hump to make the playoffs, so this move fits their plan.

And even though I'm fully committed to youth movement, I would love to get Faried from Denver.
