KCP just signed a one year deal with the Lakers for $18M.

Perhaps but that was always the deal thrown out there for him.
Re: Around the League: The Offseason
Yeah I was mostly kidding with all the James to the Lakers rumors. They don't have their pick next year anyway, hardly any downside for them with this deal. He just might end up being a good fit for them.ShelC wrote:Perhaps but that was always the deal thrown out there for him.

A short note on summer league...DSJ is a beast. I think he's what we want Bledsoe to be. Or at least what I wanted him to be when we got him.
Re: Around the League: The Offseason
Has to be. Simmons said it would go down like this. That Magic would come to Rich Paul's rescue and give KCP some money to help him save face. KCP turning down 5/$80M to take 1/$18 is strange. Especially if he gets hurt.Hermen wrote:A favor for Rich and LeBron?Ring_Wanted wrote:KCP just signed a one year deal with the Lakers for $18M.

So he turned that down this offseason then after the AB trade they renounced him ? That's how it played out ?carey wrote:Detroit originally.bajanguy008 wrote:

Re: Around the League: The Offseason
Word is Knicks and Rockets are looking for ways to send Melo to Houston, including four team deals. I wonder if PHX is part of the convos.

Re: Around the League: The Offseason
Rockets need to unload Ryan Anderson. I'm not touching that contract unless we move Knight in the same deal.
Re: Around the League: The Offseason
You shouldn't touch it regardless. He makes over $20M somehow and his neck and back are fubar.Split T wrote:Rockets need to unload Ryan Anderson. I'm not touching that contract unless we move Knight in the same deal.

More likely, they are looking at teams that could actually use Ryan Anderson. His contact sucks, but he can still stretch the floor.
Re: Around the League: The Offseason
You're probably right, but taking out Knight makes it us taking on a 3 year 18-20ish million dollar contract. I'd be willing to do that for the right price.carey wrote:You shouldn't touch it regardless. Re: Around the League: The Offseason
Easy prediction: Knicks are going to get a crappy haul for Melo. 25 cents on the dollar. It's just how things go for them.

Ya, I don't expect the Knicks to get anything. This is just a dump job. Any assets would be going to the team taking the Anderson contract.

Re: Around the League: The Offseason
Glad they've shortened the timeouts more than anything. :75 instead of :90 and the dumb "20 second time out that is much longer" one is gone. The lesser number of timeouts probably won't make a huge difference, but 4 total timeouts (2 each team) for the last 3:00 is a great idea.Superbone wrote:NBA Board of Governors approves rules changes to improve game flow

Wonder how this will affect national games. Weren't timeouts always longer for ESPN/TNT/ABC games?
