I don't like this trade suggestion. Anderson has a toxic contract, something like $20m/yr for 3 more years. Why would we trade Bledsoe, an actual asset and valuable player, for that? We s*** on Bledsoe a lot (myself included) but he's basically an average-level starting NBA point guard in the prime of his career. I am fine with shipping him out if we get good assets back, but those "future picks" would have to be really really good to make me want anything to do with a deal like this.

I understand why folks think we could do more, but I believe a couple of things that would make that trade ok for me.
1. Bled will get injured again soon and will not be much of an asset.
2. Knight is toxic in our locker room if he returns, but Anderson would be helpful for the development of our young bigs.
3. Houston is looking at a short window of success. A 2021 pick from Houston is going to be a good pick.

But, hey, if you have a better idea, let's hear it.

2. Knight hasn't shown any indication of being toxic
3. Harden is locked up through 2023, they'll be fine.

These are similar assumptions we made when trading for Knight. We assumed Knight would continue to improve and that the Lakers would get better and make that pick not so valuable. What if we make this trade and Bledsoe has a Lowry like career and all we get is the 28th and 26th picks in 2019/2021?

1. That's why I said I Believe. But he has a history of getting injured literally every other year in his career, and his value can't be super high as it is.
2. If we bring him back, it'll be rough. He's not a dick, bt it's rough working closely with an unhappy coworker, especially on a small team.
3. The Rockets aren't the Knicks, but I find it hard to imagine a team selling assets and role players to build on Harden, Paul, Melo, and Mike D is going to be good 4 years from now.

Haha, you could be right. I guess we'll see what happens. Moving Bledsoe for two future firsts feels like a backwards move to me. That's trading a quarter for two dimes. I think we need to be packaging our quarters for dollar bills.

Yeah, I would love to package a a few of our "pretty good" guys for a star.

There are a few teams I could see interested in Bled.

Denver, Milwaukee, Indiana, Brooklyn, New York, Orlando, Utah, Minnesota, San Antonio, Detroit, LAx2, and Philly would all have interest. Some more than others.

The only teams I see not being interested at all are GS, Boston, Toronto, Washington, Houston, and OKC.

That's really the only non KP trade I'd do for Bled

I'd take on Anderson's contract if we got picks from NY and Houston with no protections on them (at least from Houston) and maybe someone like Hernangomez from NY.

With 2 or 3 first rounders coming to us. Again, not perfect, and definitely creates a logjam at forward, but maybe you work out a buyout with Anderson or something....

To make any NYK/Bledsoe trade work, we'd have to take back some salary ballast, yes? I am looking at their roster on the Trade Machine and can't see many suitable contracts to throw in to match Bledsoe's. Courtney Lee (2 years, $11.7m/yr)? That is obviously a bad trade for us talent-wise. What do we get that's an actual asset? Ntilkina? Future picks?

I'm not sure I love Ntilkina enough to make him the centerpiece of a Bledsoe trade, especially if we essentially took just as much money/years back in Lee's deal. What do you guys think?

I'm thinking it'd be part of the Melo/Rockets trade so pieces from Houston or a 4th team could come to us as well. If not, It would most likely be Lee and picks.

The main obstacle on an agreement to relocate to Milwaukee has been compensation.

Milwaukee is approximately $1.6 million over the tax. The Bucks have $7.6 million of the full mid-level exception available but can use only $4.4 million to sign a free agent. Exceeding a salary of $4.4 million would trigger the NBA hard cap and restrict the Bucks from exceeding salaries of $125.2 million. Currently, Milwaukee has a payroll of $120.7 million. In order to make a more lucrative proposition, the Bucks have to shed salary via a trade.

Big man John Henson could be a prime trade candidate.

There is mutual interest and motivation from both sides on finding the 6-11 center a new home, league sources tell ESPN. Henson, a shot-blocking specialist, has three years and $32 million remaining on his contract.

Lonzo was the best player in this draft and will be the bst pro if his dad and magic don't screw it up. I Would of taken him #1 over Fultz and didn't really think it was close. Hope I'm wrong for so many reasons, but summer league has just re-affirmed it for me.

There were a lot of adamant doubters, even haters that were/are convinced that he will be a bust. Some of the "experts" thought he was no better than the 7th best prospect. I'm not saying for sure he's going to be the best prospect yet, but I will say that I myself put a premium on passing skills.

The triple doubles are nice I guess, but he shot 35% from the field. He's definitely a talent, but his summer league performance didn't do much for me. I'm still worried about his ability to shoot off the dribble. Moreso than I'm worried about Josh Jackson. Also, what's with skipping the game against Fox? If he can't play against Fox, how's he gonna fair against other super athletic guards.

I am suuuuuuuper envious that we didn't get Lonzo Ball. He's going to be a huge star. Jackson seems to be a nice player, but Ball is a generational talent IMO.
